I think the availability of parts may be the reason Acceleration opted for these cars and not the newer A1GP Powered by Ferrari or Superleague Formula cars

9 teams confirmed :

Belgium with Azerti.

Performance Racing from Sweden is another of the 9 teams already committed to the 2014 series.

GU-Racing has also entered the Series. GU-Racing is a German racing team, owned by Günther Unterreitmeier.

China is also represented with Team China Racing from Steven Lu.

Moma Motorsport, newly created by Carlos Mollá and Dani Clos, will race under the Spanish flag.

Piercarlo Ghinzani has been a reference in Italian motorsport for 40 years, as an F1 driver during the eighties and then as a successful Team Manager. He is now putting his expertise into ACCELERATION to run one of the teams.

Rocco Peduzzi and E. Catella’s RC Motorsport, with 3 Italian Formula 3 titles in the 90’s, are taking up the challenge and will represent Venezuela.

Japan is another just confirmed overseas country. Taki Inoue, former Formula 1 driver in the 90’s, will lead the team under the banner of Euronova Japan.

Team Holland will of course also be represented and run by Meindert van Buuren SR.

So the series will really happen - never thought that. But the teams sound good.

Meindart van Buuren SR? Is that a new team from his father? Any information on that?

Don't know much about it but apparently there will be Team México with Alfonso Toledano Jr (former Panam GP Series racewinner and Formula BMW podium finisher) and Gerardo Nieto Jr (F3 European Open racewinner)...

Yep, talked with them. RC Motorsport will be Team México and Nieto and Toledano will race. They already have their seats and the car is already painted with the "México" brand.

There actually seems to be some interest in this - will it actually get off the ground?

One thing I have thought though, is that the images of the painted cars look somewhat "low budget"................

Some big team names involved, yet absolutely no media coverage excluding their own difficult to navigate website and some sporadic Autosport articles. Somewhat confusing.

Very poor information work from the acceleration organisation. Why?

Tom Dillmann, Nigel Melker and Felix Rosenqvist are among those eyeing drives in the new A1GP-inspired Formula Acceleration 1.

Some nice names. Also Gonzalez tested.

But I think there will not more than 10-14 cars on the grid. There are also just 14-16 cars at Auto GP. Put them together would be nicer...

Nowadays a two car grid must be enough to run a top single seater series.

There is also Sebastian Balthasar (never heard of him to be honest) in the German car, plus I've seen images of Spain, Italy and China too but it's almost impossible to find detail of who is signed up for this

Balthasar ran in F3 ATS.

For spain maybe run Victor Garcia. He doesn't run since 2011, on Indylights.
Rodolfo Gonzalez for Venezuela.

Also there is a car for Mexico...

Not sure if this series will be succesfull, so many single seaters right now, it must be something very special to pull in the crowds.

they use the same concept as A1GP with the same 9 year old cars as A1GP used in the beginning.

But A1GP never managed to get any crowds at most circuits and the teams found it very hard to find sponsors, so after Sheikh Maktoum stopped his financial backing the series was bakrupt within a year or so.

So I can't see this beeing a succes either.

AutoGP(same cars) started with a 13 car field in Morocco and Formula Renault 3.5 have problems getting a full field also.
