cos should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The Sun, that paper well-known for touring car news and rumours, reckons that:

But we here at SunSport have a sneaking suspicion that Our Man Racin’ Jason may yet line up on the grid at Brands in another car.

The Sun's paper version seems to ignore it. All the motorsport content is online only.

How many did they have? Hope this doesn't mean they're out. And who's funding this team, I take it maxtreme's the team name, there aren't any sponsors.

Maxtreme bought two Toledo's if I remember correctly.

Am sure that's the case, as I remember thinking at the time, surely it's expensive to buy another one just for parts, unless they were going to have a spare chassis. Seem to recall one is chassis 011, which Plato took Seat's first BTCC victory in.

If you read the spec, it has the 20 valve engine in it. I have a feeling it's something to do with that.

Maxtreme brought two complete cars, a extra shell plus a large quantity of spares - basically everything BTC had at the time. BTC wanted rid of the cars so Maxtreme probably got a better deal buying everything as a job lot than picking and choosing only what they needed.

McMilan's first outings were in chassis #008 (ex-Pickford 2005) fitted with the 20v engine, which I assume is the car now for sale. He's now using chassis #011 (ex-Plato 2004) with the 16v engine. The third shell was chassis #010 (ex-Hines 2005).
