Running on the shortened track for the race under lights at the Creek, leaves them with basically one overtaking spot with this change.

Shortened track for night race

Will Triple Eight's funding, and manufacturer endorsement, be deminished by the corresponding dismal sales of ZB Commodores on the showroom floor?

Struggling to recall the last time motor racing was the cart and not the horse.

Hardly promising for the "Twenty-20" format.

It's seriously at odds with say, the 1980 season, when Commodores and Falcons sold in large numbers, but racing needed enticement to move across to the showroom equivalents.

Racing wants to go on; but with no underlying road-car basis, why bother?

I like it actually. The main circuit has never really been one of my favourites so I'm happy to see something different, albeit shorter.

Maybe viewing will improve as a result

Yeah I liked it.... and it seemed popular with the drivers as well, some commenting they would like the system incorporated for all tracks, long and short.

Have not read the mag article, but this appears to be a modification to the signed off panels.
Would like to know more detail also.

Just thinking out loud, the composite panel ZB came into the championship in a winning flurry, the Fords and Nissans were left in their wake and it looked like a cakewalk for the Holdens this year, the Fords and Nissans were granted the composite panels and while it took a couple of races to sort out where to put the ballast Etc. we are now watching the Fords and Nissans doing extremely well and we're basically back to the situation at the end of last year.

OR

As we saw at P.I. Scotty did not gain one inch in the slipstream of Jamie down the main straight but cruised past him (and Davey) at T2, is the ZB too slippery with not enough downforce ?

Looks more like Scotty finally has his head around this years tyre.

I thought 888 admitted at PI, they took a lot of wing out for extra straight line speed.

Sounds like a Ford team found a loophole in the rules, accused Holden of using it, cars were checked and found to comply... Rules tightened subsequently so nobody gets any ideas.

Always going to be a *****fight. Some cars suit some tracks some suit others,

Test the Nissans, where have they found their speed
