getting a bit soft, the Nascar boys want play if it rains,, must be bad on the hill to call close to practice for the V8's but will send out others.

Hmm , harden up boys, the raced in wosrt years ago, with nothing of the safety you have today.

The toughest race, but the softest attitude

4 sets of wets to qualify and race on. Use what used wets you have for practice. Hope it isn't wet all weekend!
Hardly what you would expect from the most professional series in the world.
Dunlop have a lot to answer for. Who really cares if they have only ever "sold" 250 wets before at Bathurst. Surely you have to consider the chance that it may rain all weekend.
Where does this leave the Fujitsu cars or were they able to hang onto their tyres, given every other unused wet in the paddock was seized to be "redistributed".

So given the forecast is for rain for all 4 days, and knowing that wets wear out so much faster than hard compound slicks, let's gaze forward to Sunday morning.

Watch when the man from Workcover NSW strolls into race control, and issues the C of C a prohibition notice preventing the commencement of the V8 Races due to a lack of proper safety equipment (wets) creating a workplace environment that isn't safe.

While very unlikely, it is indeed probable, and wouldn't the excuses be flying thick & fast...

Hopefully this years Team Vodafone 1000 will put a good impression on the fans here in North America and the Islands. SPEED has been promoting this race like crazy here on television. So Im hoping the Channel 7 television directors do a good job and SPEEDTV doesnt screw up. Like delaying Bathurst coverage for a NASCAR cooking show or like what we saw at Le Mans this year while Rockenfeller crashed they were instead showing a blonde lighthouse covering Indycar practice highlights. Sadly DW will be calling the race but Mike Joy is a world class commentator, and Scott Pruett isnt in the race so Leigh Diffey commentary will be watchable.

Looking forward to the race, maybe not as much as I used to, but Bathurst is simply fantastic.

And if it rains in 2 weeks on the Gold Coast. There isn't a wet tyre left in the country.

Hope it drys out.

so how many wets are being brought up from Melbourne on the overnighter?

and they are out on the track, trying to use slicks if possible...

If it's really wet, then the wets will stand up as long or longer than hard compound dry tyres. If conditions are variable with the track drying or drier in some sections then 4 sets isn't a lot to have up your sleeve.

If it was me, I'd be planning on nailing a big lap ASAP for both drivers in the qual session then parking it and maximising rubber for the race.

Possibly 500mm not 50mm (ie 2 inches)
I would suggest 500mm is a big shunt !

a Dry or Wet Quali session ????

Roland won't be happy that he crashed after the checker had been thrown... "I was on 3 fast laps..." what was he doing trying to make fast laps on the cool down... oh that's right they're allowed to

Good work by the KR guys, certainly has left the team owners looking a bit average

I'm there's going to be a bunch of disappointed people though, all three of the BJR cars were off the pace
as well as both of the DJR Cars. I would imagine The Enforcer would be disappointed too at being 1.2 seconds behind his team mate.

Oh and #77 did manage to stay within the 107% at only 1.7 seconds behind everyone else

Wow Dave Reynolds is a talent, what a shame he's under such a cloud at the moment.

I hope he ends up in a Holden next year, GRM perhaps?

Nice work from most of the guys up the front, ouch for Bargs, that was a fair hit - looks like he hit the inside wall, shades of '97!
