Maybe, only if Matt Neal gets past practice without writing off the car!

Even McDougall & Miedieke are overdue for good showing. Lots of development been done over last few weeks and they may of just found right combo!

Anyway I'm looking forward to this race and I was wondering whether anyone else from in here are going?

QLD 500 darkhorses?

The XR Club has had, since 1999, a prominent place about 3/4 of the way down the Back Straight near where the braking markers are. We'll be there in full display on Sunday, and possibly, though depends on a few things, we may have a display there Saturday .. irrespective, there'll be a few XR's at that spot on Saturday, so come say Hi on either day if you're over that way.

Have a great weekend there in any case!

Cheers,

XR

Darkhorses? Does the Longhurst/Mezera combination count? Also, does the GRM Bags/Tander combo count? At this stage, the crystal ball is only spitting out Skaife/Bright for the win...

I'm all excited and losing sleep atm

I'll be doing a spot of commentating over the weekend, but judging by the program, 8:30 Saturday morning should be a goer

Crash that is most kewl! Don't forget to feature the XR Club in your commentary if we're set up on Saturday! I was out at the circuit today organising the Vehicle Entry passes for West Gate entry, and was talking to Rob Colgan for about 20 mins, and he is really excited about the event this year.
Also John Tetley and Ron Turvey, both stalwarts from last year, are extremely upbeat about this Qld 500. A great little team out there. I might even get Rachl to sneak me in to the tower and say Hi to you sometime during the day!

Have a great call and enjoy what should be a fantastic Top 15 qualifying.

My dark horses are probably biased .. but Steve Ellery and Geoff Brabham will give it a real shake. The only question is Geoff's lack of actual track time, as he has driven not many hours since last November, but last Test day, he was only .73 sec slower than Steve was.
Steve is our Club patron, but having said that, he really is super quick. Either way, the whole weekend is looking good. Keep an eye out for a Bathurst Edition White AU XR6 with the cheeky plates 'CYA' there

Cheers,

David aka XR

I'll be out there on all three days, so I'll be floating around somewhere

The folks out there at QR have had some big meetings of late, and I hope it all works out for them. I certainly hope there aren't any traffic dramas, but it is looking good.

It's also fantastic to have a local sponsoring the race. Tony has been helping out a lot of folk, and I'm reading now that he will also have the sides of Cam McLean's car covered in his signage. Also, he should be hard to beat in the Porsche Cup, if Lakeside is anything to go by..

How about we make this the official thread?

Well I must say I have never seen such a big crowd on a Friday for a local QLD round of the ATCC/SCS...it was huge...

McGill/Scifleet are DNPQs, while Cameron Mclean/Neal Bates will be DNSs, for reasons which they are keeping to themselves...and it aint mechanical problems.

I believe Morris was fastest today from Skaife.

Kerry Baily set a 1:07-flat in Sport Sedan qualifying, with plenty up his sleeve...thats a good 3-4 seconds quicker than a V8...

Anyways, twill be a big one
