Ray Bell should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Lakeside figures have been dodgy for many years... and yes, they do count every pass handed out. It's not a 'paying customers' head count, but a count of all bodies there for the purposes of explaining to advertisers and sponsors how many were exposed. I would doubt the 25,000 at QR, even if I wasn't there.

can I be honest with you, the figure at Lakeside for the Konicas was nearly on the conservative side... they obviously didn't get a count the people jumping the fence...

But QR- I'd say that was about right. They had something in the mid 30Ks for the three days, which I would believe- there was a very good turn outon Friday, and the best Saturday crowd I've ever seen there.
