I think it's a great idea to model it off the first Bathurst trophy, but you think it would have made better sense to do it for the 40th race 2 years ago.

I preferred the funny looking pointed trophy they used to give out in the 80s myself.

You know the one that, in 87, Wilko told Soper to "lift it up so the people at the back could see it”, and when he did so, the top of it looked like it pierced a hole in the roof of the podium..........

It looks great. Its good that they are bringing some of the old things back to the Great Race. It looks a hell of a lot better than the trophy that has been handed out for many years. I hope they keep this design for many years and not go back to the old one
