CAPRI CRCUIT CAR EARLY 1980's

Hi Chaps
Some of you will have seen this before so for that I apologise, althought it was many years ago now
I wondered if anyone may reconise the car in the pictures below, it was used as Pace Car/ Circuit car during the early 80's in various Motor sport events, mainly BRSCC from what I can work out, I am looking for any pictures that anyone may have of it in action in these times please, cash waiting for any pictures taken during this time featuring the car on any circuits please
Many thanks and with my kind regards
Grant

I remember seeing that at Brands, and I think that Barry Lee had it for a while in Ilford. Also that reg number seems very familiar! Was it maybe used on or as a press car? I think one of the 3 litre S's in the Professionals wore the plate as well? No pictures though, sorry!

Did it always have the grapics on the side?

I have a photo of a plain white capri leading the field on the pace laps of the wet WEC 6 hour race at Brands in 82.

The number plate is replaced with 'pace car'

I'm sure that John Nicol of the BRSCC was 'given' a Capri by Ford that he used as a pace car for those type of events. later they gave him a Sierra Cosworth IIRC.

I recall him using it at the Birmingham Supeprix. Prince Edward drove the car around the circuit in 1988 before the F3000 race and the media labelled him as the fastest Royal at the time!

It was a white Cossie with green markings I recall.
