I take it the Lotus sponsorship of the Canaries is a thing of the past, is it Mike? Perhaps it will be revived under the new Chinese ownership - at least they could pronounce 'Canaries' correctly!! Then of course they might end up driving Volvos, heaven forbid. |

Lotus / Proton sponsorship? Those were the days! Think it's just Aviva (NU) nowadays. |

A familiar looking car popped up as I was browsing shots from the CSCC Silverstone event over the weekend.
http://www.davidstallardphotography....17/i-jqrwttZ/A to see an old favourite. and then this and a couple following it for some even more interesting views. http://www.davidstallardphotography....17/i-K2FVPgW/A |

It looks a pretty close run thing - love Tango's driver (Walbank or Sismey) checking the mirror to see where the Escort was going......
Had a similar experience. Somewhat earlier in that sequence of pics there is a shot at Vale of me in the 75 with a red 911 diving inside an orange Capri in the background - as I reached Club I kept left and waved the 911 through on the inside - at which point he promptly spun alongside me - which I imagine the Capri driver found interesting - I merely proceeded on my way...... http://www.davidstallardphotography....17/i-FdPpGrn/A |

Wolves will be playing both Norwich and Reading next season and unless their are miraculous improvements I would think they will be bankers for both teams! My signature, below, seems even more appropriate than usual! |

Talking of Viva (the car), just spotted for the second time an absolutely immaculate looking 1967 Viva Estate in town. In that strong blue, correct wheels and hub caps and all.....

Apparently it wasn't even mint, having spent at least part of its life glued to a model railway layout, & didn't have a box. Anybody here got one? |

I'm often bemused by the things that people value at levels well above anything vaguely sensible. At the opposite end of the scale - the things they don't value much at all. |

1967 Viva? Something rarely seen in period. Must be a continuation model. |

Mike, hub caps??? You mean hub caps then. Which model? Black, dark grey, plastic, chromed plastic, polished aluminium, stainless steel? I ask because I know someone writing books about hub caps. Already a star in some countries.........

Hub caps as in nave plates- not sure how that translates!
Shiny chrome on plain steel wheels- 12 or 13" dia at a guess. Grant, the car looks brand new. No idea how good it is underneath but initially looked v impressive! |

For your info, the 'normal' HB Viva used 12" wheels, the 1600 & 2 Litre GT used 13" (I will now take my anorak off - well, period correct Dealer Team Vauxhall Rally jacket...) |
