French Rallycross Championship

Start of the French Championship this weekend, nice to see the return of Alexandre Theuil in the super Golf, also Samuel Peu in a div 1 car great driver, but the top news is current champion Philippe Tollemer has 2 new C4's and will be competeing in selected ERC rounds with guest using the second car, another top notch team to the sport, good stuff. Love everything about French rallycross, the tracks, the atmosphere the colour schemes on the cars. anyone no if the FRC can be view on a satalite channel, or on the internet please?

the "AFOR" site has a TV deal listed with Motors TV - but as I cannot get motors tv, I don`t know if it will be on the uk schedule. But the french tv schedule for motors tv listed live coverage of the british from easter. So you may be in luck.

On the internet the afor tend to post clips on dailymotion.

Don`t forget division 1a sensensation from last year, Sammual Peu is out to play in Div 1.

Laurent Terroitin is also registered for this year, but I don`t know what his plans are.

91 Entries, 14 in division 1, 25 in division 1a, 24 division 3 and 28 in division 4.

But so far no current French Champion. Marc Laboulle listed? Is this because he is looking to Europe this year.

Was hoping to go this weekend, but might not be possible now.

I think also that the new C4's are running transverse engines which is very different to all the others?

Be interesting to know what transmission they are using to cope with the torque, maybe teh Schanche derived Prodrive concentric one?

Mark as spectator? Not taking the xsara to its old stumping ground?

Thanks for the info - I was wondering if Laboulle and Tollemars were sharing the C4, like Oliver Ann (Erc) and Jerome Grosset-Janin (French )did last year. But its going to be two C4`s!

Totally agreed though on my 1st visit in 2005 i did wonder what i had come to & thought never again but 2 more visits later & now love the whole Essay experience, and the track always gives good racing in all the classes.

Gutted im not there this w/e, might have even seen the place in sunshine, but was let down by my driver Stephen H who decided to get sick before he even got on the boat this time!!

Just watched the coverage on Motors TV, more of a magazine format but looked good. Particularly liked the class structure, seems to work well. Do they run Division 2 over there? All this additional rallycross action on TV is a god send for me, as having just bought our new baby daughter home from hospital this weekend the realisation of having a new baby in the house has fully hit home! I think I'm going to be watching most of my rallycross from the sofa this year, with the exception of maybe Tockwith as it's only 20 mins away. Is the European Championship being broadcast this year on Motors in the UK?

No, they did have the old "Division 2", but dropped it and introduced Division 1a.

So they have two international classes, Div 1 and Div 1a, and two "French Only" classes, Div 3 for 4 wheel drive not div 1, eg ex ice racing cars. And Div 4 that seems to capture other two wheel drive cars, folcar etc.

Plus the entry level Logan Cup, for Renault Logan cars.
