850Estate should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sutton penalised for the move of Turkington and sent to the back of the grid for R3...

I don't want to go overboard as I haven't seen the onboard, but this reeks of trying to keep the title battle hot for Brands...

Huh. It was a bit rough but it wasn't worth being sent to the back of the grid.

Apparently it's his third strike of the season, so instant grid drop.

Nope. Decision stands. Agree with 850Estate, need to see the onboard...

If Sutton can get into the points they should be about even going into Brands

Ash seemed very defensive in the post-race interview - perhaps he knew it was a bit 50-50. Didn't look too bad to me but the stewards can see a lot more than we can - back of the grid still seems harsh.

Edit - missed the third strike part. Well then.

We need more replays, but Josh Cook isn't covering himself in glory, and Josh Price won't be winning fans with sticking it in the gravel, under SC, in the accident area.

Out of interest, what's the punishment for a 5th strike or whatever it is that Cook could potentially be on?

When the rest of the series goes to Brands, he has to start from Silverstone?

Price spin into the gravel didn't look as bad on the replay. Was a few cars bunching up and he got pushed out there. A lot of drivers far too fast under yellow.

Any driver who has received three reprimands (including verbal and/or written warnings and/or any such penalty as may relate to driving standards at the discretion of the BTCC Clerk) will, on receiving the third reprimand be given the additional penalty of starting the next available race from the rear of the grid and a deduction of three points from their Championship tally in the Drivers Championship and, if applicable, the Independent Drivers Championship.
On a fourth reprimand the driver will receive a one-race ban to be taken at the next available Race, on the fifth reprimand the driver will start the next available Race from the rear of the grid, and on the sixth reprimand the driver will receive a two-race ban to be taken at the next available Races. Every reprimand from and including the third reprimand will also receive a deduction of three points from their Championship tally in the Drivers Championship and, if applicable, the Independent Drivers Championship. Drivers must carry the appropriate Championship/Success Ballast for the race in which they would normally have started prior to the application of any such penalty

Great race for Newsham and Huff... Gutted for Epps, think Jordan should get a penalty for his part

Cheers. It'll be interesting to see if anything comes of it.

Top quality battle between Huffy and Neal there. Fair play to both of them, that was hugely exciting to watch.

So back of the grid for race 1 at Brands. Are we taking bets if he will be banned for races 2 and 3?

Are teams allowed to run different compounds on the car at the same time, ie Silver tyre on front left and Yellow tyres on the rest?

First things first: Get well soon Will Burns. I hear he is out of hospital with fractured ribs and a bruised lung.

Like his HARD teammates I think he has done a good job this year; I suspect he will not be out at Brands, I do hope he is back on the grid next year. Half expecting Tony Gilham will keep the seat warm at Brands.

I really don't get the Sutton penalty. By BTCC standards the touch on Colin was nothing.

I'm starting to think someone has put a curse on Andy Jordan; he has a ridiculous amount of bad luck. Nice gesture by him giving JP a ride back 😀

Tingram was the stand out driver of the day for me. Sadly I think he has realistically no chance of the title unless Sutton/ Turkington both have nightmares at Brands.

Huffy did well. Very very well, would be great to see him in BTCC as a permanent fixture.

Matt Neal again showing there is life in the old dog. I wish Dynamics would stop ****ing and whinging: that car looked like it was on rails with more speed than Concorde.

So what happened in race 1 between Neal and Jackson? It happened right in front of where I was sitting - Jackson seemed to push Neal further and further off the track, then Neal seemed to deliberately punt Jackson off. Why was Jackson forcing Neal so wide? Did he have a puncture? Surely Neal should have been penalised for his unnecessary contact. It seems like too many drivers take matters into their own hands and retaliate on track.

Also what happened to Plato in race 1? Did he make a mistake or was he punted off?

Been looking at a few replays and can see that in R3 under safety car that Price was hit hard up the back by the crashfest that is Simpson. That has to be dealt with properly, marshals could well have been hurt if Prices car had speered off in a different direction.

Does anybody know how Rob Collard is? I have failed to find any news of him: I know he was taken to hospital for scans but nothing after that. Hope you're OK pal.

And finally having caught up on posts on here: 962 fan, you need to have a good long think about your idiotic insensitive post.

I believe that race control initially believed all was OK and the safety car was instructed to come in: only then did race control get the full picture, i.e. that Will Burns was not safely out of the car.

Good news, thankfully:

"Pleased to update that Rob's scans and X-rays are all clear. A few days of pain meds and he should be fine. @DuoMotorsport @BMWUKMotorsport" (Collard's Twitter)

A real shame for Josh Cook that there isn't a loyalty scheme in the TOCA bus where you get a free coffee for x amount of penalties.

He heads the list on TCT:
