Kyle Busch Motorsports announces two full-time teams; possibly a third: Kyle Busch Motorsports announced that as of right now they will run two full-time teams in the Camping World Truck Series in 2010. Kyle Busch will drive the #18 Miccosukee Toyota with Brian Ickler picking up the ride in the stand-alone events. Tayler Malsam will drive the #56 Toyota full-time with sponsorship from Talking Rain and ActivWater. KBM is trying to pull enough sponsorship together to bring Champion Johnny Benson into the mix and make it a three-truck operation. Until the new shop is finished being built, the two-truck team will be based out of the former Xpress Motorsports shop located in Mooresville, NC.(SPEEDtv.com) [It was reported earlier this week that talks are underway with Exide Batteries and at least one other sponsor about backing Benson -- see the December Archive Page.] (12-11-2009)

Tayler Malsam will be good to see in a full-season drive. But Kyle really should focus on his Cup season this year.

We know about fuel injection happening, but also Ethanol will be phased in by 2011.

"Ethanol use possible by 2011: A NASCAR official said that the series could use a corn-based ethanol blend by 2011. Steve Phelps, NASCAR's chief marketing officer, made the comment during a panel discussion at the North America Motor Sports Business Forum this week. "I'm not definitively going to say that for 2011 we're going to have ethanol," Phelps said after the panel meeting. "It's something that we're looking at now." After the session, Phelps detailed what has been done in regard to ethanol. "Our guys are testing it at this particular point and trying to determine whether that's right for our series," he said. "They're on the engines now. What does it do to different parts? How does the engine run? Does it run cooler, does it run hotter - those types of things. We would certainly not institute a rule change or a fuel change that would affect the racing at all." Such a timetable could work well. There are indications that NASCAR could switch from carburetors to fuel injection in 2011, and that could be a good time to make the switch.(Hampton Roads)(12-11-2009)"

Here is the team chart as everything looks now.

http://jayski.com/pages/2010teams.htm

Interesting now that the #96 has been moved to the "Unknown/Suspended/Closed" section. I have no idea what this team is gonna do.

Also, new CC's for Penske Racing. Steve Addington is the new CC for Kurt Busch, as Jay Guy is the new CC for Keselowski in Cup. Travis Geisler stays.

gonna be weird not seeing Dewalt yellow & black on the 17.
can the crew still keep the "Killer Bees" tag w/o Dewalt??
how 'bout the "Royal Bees"??
they have been the most consistent, quickest crew in the biz.

Wow! What a revelation! Welcome to 2005 Nascar! They should ask every other series on the face of the planet how the engines react and the potential damage to rubber and plastic parts.

Full season in Trucks and all the CoT Nationwide races. He will race for Turner Motorsports (they have KHI equipment). IIRC Carmichael did already some Truck races for this new team.

Also, full season for Carmichael in 2011 N'wide.

also. Wow, this is so big that I will also make another thread for this Looks like Nascar not going to Milwalkee might have to do with this:

Nationwide Series going to Road America: Despite the demise of the Milwaukee Mile, NASCAR still plans to come to Wisconsin in 2010. Elkhart Lake's Road America -- arguably the best road course in the country -- will host the Nationwide Series on June 19, the date that had been held for the Mile. That will make for a road-racing doubleheader weekend for NASCAR, with the Sprint Cup Series in Sonoma, Calif. Stock cars aren't entirely new to RA. Tim Flock won in NASCAR's premier division in its only appearance in 1956. Lower divisions have competed at the track, including the defunct NASCAR Midwest Series in 2001, a race won by current Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series driver Paul Menard.(Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)(12-21-2009)

THe Nationwide 2010 team chart looks pitiful. It's incredible how many teams don't have sponsorship.

Well this was short lived...

Fancar ceases: fancar.com has officially closed it's doors as of December 7, 2009. Matt Ferguson, a fan who wanted to sponsor a Sprint Cup car, and devised a plan where all fans would have an opportunity to sponsor a car. He started FanCar, and thew fans sponsored the #08 Toyota that Terry Labonte drove at Homestead in November 2009. More info and images at FanCar.com and Facebook.(12-26-2009)
