Wilbo should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Carrera Cup or GT3 Cup?

It just occured to me: Why is it it called the Carrera Cup instead of GT3 Cup?

The cars are GT3's not Carrera's or technincally are they Carrera GT3's?

I guess they call it that because it is only for Carrera GT3 cars, and not all GT3 cars.

GT3 rules are based on the specs of single make GT cars like the Carrera Cup and F430 Challenge, they are road cars that have been gutted and rebuilt with stronger components. GT4 cars are but based on different models and to a lesser extent.

GT1 and GT2 cars are tube frame chassis with the bodyshells and engine block configuration being the only thing in common with the road car.

I think they are. They're not monococques with bodyshells are they?

Subaru_WRX_STi has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I am not sure, but I think, the Carrera Cups are for national championships, French, German, and British wich runs with the BTCC, the Super Cup is about the international championship, a supporting series for Formula One, in European Grand Prix, and as said before all of them are usinf the 911 (997) GT3 Cup car

Don't think so, I think they're based on the 911 GT3. Looking at Porsches model range, the Carerra is the entry level 911, whilst the GT3 and the GT2 represent the highest performance models.

911 GT1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The 997 Cup Cars are based on the "small" body of the 997 GT3, the RSR is bases on the wide body of 997 Carrera S / 4S and GT3-RS.

The name "Carrera Cup" is uses since 1990, when they started raing 964 Carrera 2 cars in the German Cup. They never changed the name of the Carrera Cup, it´s an wll known name for this single make cup.
