World series by Reanult Formula 3.5 Monaco 2015
Time for the drivers to have only one race and as we now know we are missing one due to a race later on that day.
and for the 2nd year running BT Sport will show the race live. I wonder if we get a guest in the car |

Pons is looking for a replacement for Merhi... at least, for this round.

This year the single practice session is moving from Thursday morning to Friday morning too - it was agreed when Renault and the ACM extended the FR3.5 race contract late last year.

I don't think Merhi has anything to gain by continuing in the series.

And he'll be replaced this weekend by GP3 driver Alex Fontana.

If Merhi had attempted to do both, wouldn't he have been the first to race a GP and a support race on the same weekend, since who... Gerhard Berger in the 80s?

The last one I can think of is Philippe Adams at the '94 Belgian GP - he raced for Lotus in the GP and won the Belgian Procar touring car race!

Qualifying Top 10:
1. Jaafar (Fortec) 1:23.425 2. Rowland (Fortec) 3. Vaxiviere (Lotus) 4. Ellinas (Strakka) 5. Stoneman (DAMS) 6. Fantin (Draco) 7. Dillmann (Carlin) 8. de Vries (DAMS) 9. Orudzhev (Arden) 10. Malja (Strakka) Jaafar does seem to be a bit of a Monaco specialist! Vaxiviere has shown all weekend that his Aragon pace wasn't just a one-off too. Tio has been pretty consistent too and I for one would love to see him nick a podium spot tomorrow. |

OK, apparently there was some sort of timing glitch, so the Top 10 on the grid is now:
1. Jaafar 2. Rowland 3. Vaxiviere 4. de Vries 5. Stoneman 6. Ellinas 7. Dillmann 8. Malja 9. Orudzhev 10. Fantin |

I'd be very surprised if Bonifacio wasn't injured there.

I'm surprised 10/10ths and the motorsport community as a whole on Twitter aren't commenting on Rowland's performance at Monaco. 6 legitimate passes around Monaco in the space of 20 minutes? Exceptional stuff, and some very inventive places to pass too.

The Bonifacio/van Buuren accident really was quite a scary one, it's good to see they both came away unharmed from it. It'll be a tough week for Draco and Lotus to fix all the damage and travel to Spa too.
Hats off to Jaafar, he pretty much had a perfect weekend. I'll admit I didn't really think of him as a title contender before this weekend but that'll have to change if he can keep this form up. And like p-matt says, it was a brilliant drive from Olly - those recovered points might prove crucial later in the season. I do feel for both Strakka guys, just in the wrong place at the wrong time unfortunately. They've both got the pace, they just need a trouble-free weekend to really show it. |

it was a properly classy comeback. when was the last time someone was in the same situation in a race in any series? can they not draw a top 5 qualifiers name from a hat to start from the back every race? ps the cars left monaco on sunday early evening. they have to clear out by something silly like 9pm at the latest (i've got 7pm in my head?). any repairs are a spa job upon arrival there. |

Rowland's a good racer, but he needs to be a bit more consistent to win the title (or alternatively, win the most races so his off-weekends matter less, aka Sainz Jr in 2014).

There is nothing wrong with his consistency so far this season, it's not his fault Vaxiviere rammed into his rear tyre at Monaco... At Aragon he was perfectly fine.

I was referencing performance across a full season, not just 2015. Anyway, the field is full of rookies this year, he should be able to get the job done.
