Nope - here's my cheap foreign car quietly rusting away in the snow today. Just for you Baub!

Trying out the 4WD, eh? There was a Pandycross around here, but vivid orange! Glad they come in normal colours as well.
An historic racer of my aqaintance who has an impressive car collection swears by their (previous model) 4WD Pandy for every day use. Narrow rough roads are prevalent in his part of the world! |

It went well Mike - the only problem is in deep snow ruts it's best to avoid the wider tracks of bigger cars as it tries to follow them like train tracks - good fun just ploughing over them though.
Two-cylinder petrol - sounds like a sowing machine at times. Bit different to my X3 but an impressive little car, so far so good...... |

There has to be a joke in there somewhere about "How do you make a Pandacross?".
Hopefully bauble will find it soon. |

I've just come across this YouTube of a Special Saloon race at Thruxton, where the leader is one John Turner in a Skoda. Is that the JT of this parish?

What is it about the three words “Russian antivirus software” that would make me nervous if involved in any high security business or politics?

I think the news that Prince Harry is to marry Mrs. Merkel can only help the Brexit negotiations.

A great showpiece for Special/Super Saloon racing. The Skoda John Turner is not our beloved moderator unless in an earlier life he was a timber merchant from down sarf. The Capri was Mick Hill's 5 litre V8 and the beautiful Corvair was Ian Richardson's 7.6 litre Chev V8 powered car (later 8.1 litre - perhaps the 7.6 wasn't powerful enough!). Gerry Marshall believed the Corvair was a quicker car than Baby Bertha and he bought it from Ian and stored it for a couple of years on a farm in the Buckinghamshire area (maybe John Pope's farm?). Perhaps GTRM could give further insight here? The Ford Pop was MIke Berman's Berpop but possibly driven by Martin Sellick. It had a semi spaceframe and a 3.5 Buick V8. Not the fastest car but it was probably fun to drive as the handling seemed to be a bit on the wild side.
I have seen the clip before and I would have sworn that the Skoda won as it seemed he was playing with the Capri - how the memory plays tricks. I think John Turner had the Escort BRM that raced in the early 70s and I think it was that car that went off on the outside of Woodcote at Silverstone then veered across the circuit in to the pit wall just a few yards from where I was standing. A small fire started and it seemed to take an age before the driver got out. P.S. The video didn't have any sound. |

I would not have the temerity to launch any thread that smacked of self-aggrandisement, anyway it might not get any responses and how embarrassing would that be? I'll stick to your excellent Delta threads and continue complaining about the content. Salutations, Bob. |
