Well, its finally here, the 2010 IndyCar season is about to start. They open this weekend in Brazil on the streets of Sao Paulo. This is an inaugural race. Here are the details of the race..

Race 1 of 17

Race - Sao Paulo Indy 300

Location - Streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil

Date - Sunday, March 14th

Time & TV Schedule - 11:30 AM Eastern on Versus

Course Type - 2.6 Mile Street Circuit

Distance - 75 Laps / 195 Miles

Practice Sessions - Friday, March 12th - 7-8:30 am Eastern & 10:30-11:30am Eastern

Qualifications - Saturday, March 13th -1pm Eastern

I think the track is still a public highway until 12:01 am on Saturday morning Danicafan so the Friday practice must be in rentacars from Budget.
I hope they don't have any trouble getting the track ready in time.
I was one of the doubters as to whether this event would happen on the dates planned so I will be glad to be proven wrong

Negative, there are practice sessions on Friday at those times. Remember, they are 2 hours ahead of us.

Check the Indycar website for live streaming. I did it last year for some qualifying and a race. Also, check justin.tv for online illegal streams of the TV broadcasts.

Seems that will be my option this year, as the IRL, for whatever reason, has decided to cancel its contract - just a few days ahead of the season premiere - with Viasat which was set to broadcast the IndyCar races here in Scandinavia this year.

The weekend schedule on the PDF file is in Brazil time. The race time on the home page is Eastern time. Brazil is 2 hours ahead from Eastern Time.

Indycar race control will be your best bet then. It's been changed for 2010, actually looks pretty good.

Thanks for the heads up - I assumed it would cost money, but it seems the race feed is free so I'll give it a go.

You can watch the race on the Indycar website but I can't remember if you need to register with them or not and it doesn't cost.

You will need to register but that's fairly painless.

Signing up isn't a problem - just didn't feel like paying them after this recent development. In any case, thanks for pointing me in that direction though since the feeds via Justin can be a bit hit n' miss at times
