Lada 5 sec. of the pace. That's probably 4 when van Lagen takes over the wheel. So another 1-2 sec./lap to gain to catch the back of the field.

Hi guys n girls

I'm afraid I wont be able to get the WTCC Spotters Guide completed for this race. Work has been keeping me very busy of later and at the end of the day, that pays the bills.

Its 2/3rds done and reference from the 1st European round should make the guide when it appears more accurate

Sorry about that ( I await the angry email/pm/facebook from a Mr M. Haven esq )

I think,it's the first time Russians have a strong pilots membership. Strong enough to fight for independants podium,I mean. Lvov is able to be in the front. Smetsky and Romanov in the middle. And Shapovalov against Okyay. I'm not a huge TCC fan,but I'll watch this race,of course.

What Lvov showed in ETCC was very nice, but if it's the same Lvov that drove the STCC opener...

I rather think, Lvov and Romanov will be behind Engstler, but in front of Okyay, Shapovalov and Smetsky.

I've got confused with Lvovs myself. There're two Alexandrs : one is a Russian touring'01 champion (Astra) and another started at the first STCC event at Audi's wheel (01champion tested A4 too,but hasn't decided to start there yet-WTCC has a higher priority). The second drive A4 in RTCC as well. But,which of them drive at ETC Cup?..

I believe they both did. And to make it even more confusing, they are from the same city in Russia.

Yeah, they both ran ETC Cup last year, the 2nd Lvov tho ran in some Production class, and it was him that drove the A4 at Sturup this year and crashed on the warmup lap all by himself.
The 1st Lvov is the one that drives the Honda for Artman and drove the same in ETC Cup last year (and did it very well), its also him that drove at Sturup last year in the Honda and also tested the same A4 in STCC this year at Knutstorp that the other Lvov later crashed.

Thats how I understand it anyway. Confusing? Yes!

It's easy: there is a slow and a fast Lvov.

Is it the same, who drove in WTCC Anderstorp last year? He was in Accord too, but another team, in black colours.

Helgi, could you dig up the отчество for both these Alexandr Lvov? Should make it a lot easier to separate them from each other.

Shame on me,I don't know my Motherland's autosport history... Mikhail Lvov, champion of Soviet F-2 (1977), - father of Alexandr Lvov,Russian Touring champion(2001). So,he's Alexandr Mikhailovich Lvov.
And another is Alexandr V. Lvov. I couldn't find the full name yet,but it got clearer

Great Helgi, now we at least have some better way of separating them than eg "the one that crashed during the warmup lap".

This morning Seat has extreme luck. Some early starting BMW Mechanics noticed there was smoke coming out of the Seat pitbox, they broke the garage door open and discovered a fire in the pitbox. They extinquished the fire on time.
NO serious damage was done to the car, a lot of smoke damage happened though.

Luck nr2 for Seat was that the Seat mechanics worked late the night before, and decided to leave the task of putting the 600 liter of fuel in the pitbox the day after. Imagine what would have happened if those cans of fuel would have been in the pitbox during that fire!!

Well, the SEATs with all that extra sussess balast SHOULD be so far behind. Though I would have prefered them to wait with seeing at least 1 race weekend on normal altitude before changes, a proper rev limit for diesels arguably should have been there from the start.

A little question regarding this near-disaster. What would the fact that that fuel would have been diesel instead of petrol have changed about the occasion? I suck at science, but I do remember that diesel burns differently than petrol, could anybody here explain the difference there?

It's been too many years since I was last in a physics class but from memory one burns slower at a lower temperature the other explodes in a quick blast at a higher temperature.

To be honest, with 600 litres of in an enclosed space, either way it's not going to be pretty.
