I have harped on about this for years, any sized engine/ supercharged/turbo/ amount of cylinders / configuration/ recovery systems, just limit the fuel and type, now that would benefit road cars in the future.
Ok so those that throw the most money at it would probably win but nothing new there !

Not necessarily true. For one thing, it would cause people to have to think.

Do you do a smaller, high-revving engine to give more room for the aero people to do their thing, but with higher friction losses impacting fuel efficiency? A team that was really good at aero might go that way, another team might prefer a different engine from a different manufacturer that was larger but with lower friction losses, but gave up some aero options.

Honda must have spat the dummy properly as Autosport are reporting that they are being allowed in season upgrades that will keep them in the same picture as all the others.

Bernie and those who suck up to him (like the new Ferrari boss) never cease to amaze me. Dinosaurs! Loud inefficient engines are a thing of the past, just like Bernie himself. We are in an era where the Tesla S can outperform the flagship Ferrari supercars. The past is the past - let go of it already!
