Smaller entry, less factory entries and missing some big name drivers. A solid and interesting event to come in February however this isn’t the 2017/18 events. This isn’t progress as promised by the new promoter.

The steps to reduce and make the class cars less relevant is also a step back for the event.

Same amount of classes as last year.

However, I'd have thought adding a TCR class might've generated a few more entries from both here and abroad.

Good idea regarding TCR. The California 8hrs at Laguna Seca which is part of the IGTC has that class.

The changes to class I sporting regs has impacted the class heavily. Looking back on the history of the event, class I brought such diversity in entrants, SEATs, Peugeot, FIAT etc
Now it’s just a MARC class

Not likely

Most of the yellows in recent years have been caused by Class A GT3 cars either crashing into eachother or crashing on their own.

Much less numbers and variety in the B, C and I classes though.....

What's the point of the Class B Porsche only division if less than 5 are entered....?

Class B is for Cup cars.

Daytona Sportscars were meant to bring their Viper and SIN, but apparently weren't happy with the lap time hobbling the promotors were insisting on.

Creventic and VLN seem quite happy to run them together, too.

Lap times have been in place since 2013. This issue for 2019 is the late air restrictor changes applied to class I cars.

Class B is a huge disappointment. Very surprised by the lack of interest from the 100s of cup cars in the country

Unfortunately not Todd's fault Matt White decided to buy a DJR FGX with no possibility of support, quite possibly the worst decision ever.

Anyway he had a year where he didn't stand out for getting in people's way, causing accidents or slagging his team off, something some other highly rated rookies could potentially learn from...

My understanding is that there is a unique scenario with regards to tyres for this class. They use an odd-ball size compared to everything else, and were instructed to buy a minimum amount which is said to be way more than they realistically need for the entire weekend.

And there's the actual cost of said tyres.

Thanks E.B. If I've got my time zone conversions correct that's a 18:45 GMT race start on Saturday and I'll just have to wait and see what sessions are live streamed.

Edited to add: I must get my Chromecast device set up again

It’s not strange at all Maybe he just wants the time off before defending his title.

As good as it is to see Supercars drivers in the field the main draw for me is seeing who comes from overseas and how they fare. Drivers like Markus Winkelhock are always great to watch.

Looking forward to the event as always.
