i wouldn't put money on it!

With bad weather and SC interventions fairly common, IMHO I would expect the winner to be powered by a Ford V8 or Jag 6 as normal....

I think it does open up the race a bit. Now the GT40s with fuel tanks hidden all over the car do not have such a broad pit window, either they have to find a way to carry even more fuel(!) or they will have to fall over the other guys in the fuel station just like those who play properly.
In the Fun Cup you get a card as you turn into the gates at the bottom of the pit road and there is a 5 minute "dead" period which is the same for all. That would be the last bit of the jigsaw for me, a Fun Cup car runs for around 1 1/2 hours between filling so in theory the fuel station lottery plays no part in the final result.

I decided not to bother racing at Spa this year, but I have very itchy feet. I may have to try and sneak over for a few days . . . thinking of some justification . . . .

Olde skool stuff terence.

These days it's a body camera to record everything and then file the results for each day with a few keywords on the file to identify the more interesting contents.

But you still need a diary so you could remember to turn everything on-far too complicated Grant,Im sure Tim would back me up on that.

Have it remote controlled via the Internet of Things. Start up in the morning with a reminder to put it on. As you take it off a reminder to plug it in for re-charging over night.

Option to keep it running if you feel a need to diarise any nocturnal activity.

Dare I say it but the forecast for next week is very promising..... But fear not, the prediction is for some rain on the weekend- Friday and Saturday evenings! Oh, and a torrential downpour during Sunday. Best not to take that particular forecasting website as gospel!

Well, just checked the Beeb and it's supposedly 27C on Wednesday.

And they're showing dry all weekend, so that forecast has to be the stuff of fiction!

Our Colin (McKay) mentioned on the Calais thread of a possible General Strike in France next Thursday 15th. This is substantiated by some reports on t'internet.

If it goes ahead it will likely affect transport- from ferries (guess Port workers) to Air Traffic Control, so if you're hoping to get to Spa that day, keep an eye on travel news for the next few days.......

Flying to Schiphol from Teesside on the 15th and then driving down to Spa so hopefully French ATC don't cover that far north! Thanks for the warning though Mike.

You would hope so, but from memory, during previous strikes this year Airline schedules and timetables did get mucked about. And while Calais and Dunkirk didn't seem to suffer when port workers struck before (Caen, Le Harvre, St Malo etc were), the suggestion is that this time action could be more widespread.

Apparently French ATC usually give or have to give 48hrs warning, so expect it all to become more clear on Tuesday....

Anyone know the latest on this strike on thursday? I have had a quick google search and turned up nothing. Having finally got the car running, it is time to book a ferry/chunnel.

Well, I found it via google! Read down the page a bit- http://www.easytravelreport.com/AIRL...AIRFRANCE.html

There is now a MIDAS travel alert specifically about French ATC action. Their union has called for a 3 day strike from Wednesday to Friday inclusive....

Of course this could mean diddly-squat to us using the channel crossings, but the original suggestion was that it would be a GENERAL strike on the 15th, affecting transport, including trains, ports etc....

I repeat, it could be nothing to worry us- We will no doubt find out in the next couple of days......
