Nice selection of cars over the two days. Great to wander the paddock and have a close look at the special saloons.
The racing in the 40 minute CRCC events was good up until the pit stop windows, which killed the excitement every time. |

The novice driver in the Sunbeam Talbot drove sublimely in a great little car obviously beautifully prepared and co driven by his dad. Class win, overall win, not a bad days racing for a rookie!
Some super engineering craftsmanship in the mod sports/saloons, Mat Moores space framed Escort built by Sonny Howard with a YB engine certainly turned up the wick in the first race against the ludicrously quick MG in the hands of Andy Southcott only to pipped on the line. All in all a thoroughly entertaining day on Sunday with some great looking cars and all good clean fun for the most part. Last edited by justracing; 17 Jul 2018 at 19:41. |

I was at Brands on Saturday as a friend of mine was entered in the New Millennium and Open classes. There was a really good mix of cars in most of the classes and I enjoyed watching the racing, but the highlight of the day was - by a long shot - seeing the Saloon and Modsports on track towards the end of the day.
Absolutely fantastic array of machinery in the class. So many immaculate Escorts, that awesome looking Firenza and a whole bunch of other randoms (I have never seen a TVR Tasmin or Morris Minor on track before!). Annoyingly I couldn't get back to Brands on Sunday as I would have liked to have seen the Saloon and Modsport race: will have to try and catch them again in the future! |

Didn't intend to take pictures of anyone other than my mate, but as there were so many classics on track I couldn't help myself!
Handful more pictures here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/229616...57698825338614 If anyone is interested! |

Thanks for posting the pics and Flickr link, just wondering if that Triumph Gt6 that appeared is anything to do with Deltas' previous life? Someone on here was rebuilding one.

Dont think its the same car, picture shows a light blue/ white one, delta's is supposed to be dark blue with white stripes on the bonnet at the moment and a big rear tail too.

Nice car , which I spotted at Brands. Anorak alert- the badge on the tail says GT6 Mk 3 - but it's a Mk 2 . A first world problem , I admit ....

The gt6 that ran in the modsports race is owned and run by an Australian over here ticking off a bucket list of " must do" motorsport events. The car is Australian spec rather than typical UK spec which apparently is a little different to UK which is why it ran in the modsports race rather than a "Normal" race. It has been shipped over for a 6 month + adventure.

All gone quiet on my old GT6. I did see it up for sale a while back . Sure would be fun to get her out on track again . Not long now until the Escort race at Brands . I’m away every weekend but could do with a bit of practice at Brands in the MK1 . Anyone know if there is an evening track day coming up .
