The 12 Hour website has been updated on a regular basis but there isn't any "beens being spilt". I do know that there has been over 40 expressions of interest as of the end of October, with others set to sit down and discuss their budgets after their final state rounds, AMC, etc., for 2009. |

Potential entrants will probably get confirmed more around Sandown time with the final of the Manufacturers Championship for Production Cars
I noticed Jeremy Gray was racing in Combined Touring last weekend in a new FG XR8 - not sure if it's built to ProdCar specs, but it sure looked it. Was pretty quick too, keeping up with the EVO IX without too much probs until it DNFd. |

Ah, wasn't sure if it was a 8 or 6T. Sounds good. It was certainly pretty quick around OP. Hope it comes to Sandown

I still think the same cars will be at the front of the field in 2009 as this year.

What is the grid density for the 12 hour, is it 72?

Don't think that will be a problem at Bathurst in February next year.

It would be good to see the Mazda NZ equipe bring over their Mazda 3 MPS for Mr Rollinson and co to drive... the car is a weapon, quicker than Evos and WRX's in their local production car series... at the lead of their class by a country mile
With the right front diff, and right pilots, it should be a top 10 contender |

I don't really understand why some people are being so negative about this event. It is a great race (ok, maybe not THE great race) and it gives us another race at the best track in the world.
It also draws from the very fabric that the 1000 was created for in the first place, a race for (all) manufacturers with market relevant models to race gainst one another. Personally, i hope this event thrives. It will never outshine the 1000, and nor should it, but it does give us a geninue endurance race for cars we can all go and buy, a class structure (just like the old Hardie 1000's) and an opportunity for the industry's star talents to have a punt around the mountain in something other than a supercar. Last years race was a great contest, and hope that this years is even better. |

The new EVO will most likely be slower than the old EVO IX in the same hands. The new STI is an unknown quantity.
Both are a possible winner tho with the right people. I am not being negative about this event. I want to see it become more popular then the current farce that they call the 1000. |

I just came back from Mount Panorama and saw a nice shiny new EVO X with Mr Heaphy looking after it and Mr White behind the wheel. Some 12hr testing.
The Pro-duct EVO X are not quicker than last years cars.....yet. |

Am led to believe there will be 2 Ralliart Oz prepared Evo X's on the grid... one for the White/Salmon pair, the other for a young Kiwi pair. The Ralliart cars were certainly hot this year, they might even have to replace brakes and tyres next time! Am surprised the ProDuct cars werent as quick... Mr Pearson's cars usually have the wick turned right up (sometimes to the detriment of reliability...) |

The EVO X will likely be slower unless improvements can overcome the additional weight (about 100kgs). The 135i will most likely be the one to beat if it is prepared properly to the regulations.
