I haven't heard from Kaplan since he drove the Primera in the 1998 ASTC

Brenton Ramsey may be working for Team Dynamik, he used to work for the Birrana FHolden team after he stopped driving.

There was an article in MRA a while back on John Walker and what he was up to nowadays, i'll dig it out and get back

Bruce Allison, last i heard he was being linked with a CART ride in the early 90s, for the Gold Coast at least.

Peter Hills is still racing Super Tourers (provided they are still racing)

Brian Muir also raced GT40'S and Lotus 30's in Europe in the 60'S.
As mentioned he died a few years ago. The EH he raced under Scuderia Veloce colours was 1 of the quickest EH's I've seen.

Ex Drivers - Where are they now?

Just one for the curious, a lot of talk recently about old cars and where they ended up, but what about drivers? I'm not talking about people like Brocky or Moffat, but those guys that seem to have disappeared altogeather.

for example - some names from the past -
"Skippy" Parsons; Tony Edmonson; Peter McLeod; Garry Willmington; Murray Carter; etc.

feel free to add any names to the list.

And a special call to Harves - is your dad still at HSV or did he retire?

I believe Murray carter is or was running around in GTP a year or so ago , he was never far away from racing and sure wont be in the years to come as well.

I'd like to add Mark Poole to the list , One driver I thought had heaps of talent but didnt quite get there in V8's (handy in openwheelers as well)

John Goss was competing in the East coast Targa eventlast year (in a Jag) as seen on Ch10 yesterday.

Allan Moffat has been spotted around a few events following the progress of his sons racing careers as well as the annual F1 vs V8 vs road BMW sprint at the AGP.

I'll go back to the 80's here for a moment I remember a young bloke by the name of Steve Harrington who at the time was around my age and in his 20's racing a Commodore ! I can remember thinking How good is that?
He was with Gricey on a couple of occasions at the 1000! and in the early 90's had some drives with Larry
OFF TOPIC FOR A MIN-- I am not saying he was young to race at Bathurst Who remembers Glenn Seton in a Nissan EXA Turbo in 1984 aged about 19 I think ?
ON TOPIC AGAIN --What about the Captain,Peter Janson, Warren Cullen, Brockys brother Phil "split pin" Brock Gee! I better stop I'm showing my age !

What about some of the ex-Formula Ford racers that were to be the stars of the future?

What happened to:
David Roberts
Andrew Gubb
Geoff Walters
Peter Verheyen
John Blanchard
Stephen White
Russell Becker
Michael Dutton
Mike Mortimer
Martin Carpenter
Simon Kane
Troy Dunstan
Matthew Howard (is he the same Matthew Howard that raced in the FF support at Bathurst this year?)
Jamie McHugh (is he the same Jamie McHugh that's currently racing speedway?)
Stephen Brook

and for that matter, what's Mike Quinn up to nowadays?

Michael Preston? A definate talent that got away.

Murray Carter usually pops up once or twice a year in Nations Cup in his Chevrolet Corvette, last appeared from memory in Adelaide 2004.

Phil "Split Pin" Brock competed in a HQ at the recent HQ 4hr enduro at Winton last month.

Yep a 4 hour race (well two 2hr races, one on Saturday & the other on Sunday) for the HQ Holdens.

David Roberts was my creative director for a while. He's happily ensconced in advertising land here is Brisbane. I know he bought a go-kart a while a go to get back out on the track again, but hasn't touched a race car in years.

A lot of talent always falls by the wayside, for a number of reasons.

the most common being financial, family, and career reasons.
