Don't see him for weeks then you see his name in print twice in an hour.
Just looking the the local weekly paper and there he is with his retirement picture surrounded by his staff at the surgery.

'Dr Powell is planning to spend more time on his woodwork and motor racing interests' is the blurb.

Get well soon Dave and enjoy your retirement.

So all that 'if the Doctor's eating it it must be healthy' advice isn't true? Terrible news.

Seriously, very best wishes, Dave, get well soon.

Excellent news. He was planning his next training event with me only the other day.

Retirement and heart service all in one week.

Good wishes.

I am not surprised they were fed up with him!

Good News though that the venerable Doc is back at home; not be long before he is back "on post".

Keep up the recovery.

Thanks to Mrs Doc Dave for the text updates.

Wanted to visit Dave in hospital seeing as he was only 2 1/2 miles from me but finding someone to mind the brats sorry ....children... wasnt possible so will liase and arrange a suitable time to make a home visit (no extra charge and all part of the service) once Dave is comfortable with having visitors..

Keep your chin up and dont eat all the cake

Steve and gang..

Poor kids. Tell you what, I'm heading off to Cornwall next week so leave your kids at jcn5 of the M5 and I'll return them to you in a week.

Great to hear Dave is doing so well and hope to catch up soon.

PS. Check out the location of jcn5 in relation to Worcester and Cornwall.

Thanks to all my friends and collegues for their kind thoughts. As Mat says I was released(thrown out) last tuesday but have not felt up to much before today. I am better day on day but still very tired,I shall have much more sympathy with chest injuries in future! I should be out playing on the hills in the new year in both capacities, with a little training thrown in just after christmass.
I have discovered that the problem with the brown sauce hypothesis is that I did not have enough early enough.

I saw Dave yesterday & persuaded him a modicum of Kinver Edge ale would speed his recovery. His many friends will be pleased to know he's making good progress & taking some gentle exercise. He hopes to be able to drive in a couple of weeks, to see his marshalling & Rescue colleagues at the Midland Hill Climb Marshals' awards lunch in December, and to be back in action next season.

Great to hear the news. When Dave has finished doing the gentle arm bending exercise, he could think about the gentle walk to the pub exercise. You need a good reason to do this gentle exercise stuff
