Do you use those Red Key type ones ? - I used to get problems with those, particularly in Rallycross with all the dirt flying around. The best ones are the solid state versions, but they're expensive. I now use the copy of the old Lucas type (wingnut design) they seem very reliable ( am I going to wish I hadn't said that... ) the only problem is you can't strip and clean them very easily

These aren't transponders!!
These are master switches.....transponders are for timing......
