racingdad has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
If you look at the logistics, the time zones and the cultural issues, it is not surprising that getting the arrangements up and running are complex. So the fact that things are happening is good news.

Does Mr Batchelor provide any idea on timescale for declaring drivers and the like?

Yes. But I guess there are also money issues. It should not be the case for a works entry.

Does anybody know if Hotfiel runs private or works cars disguised ? Will it become the works team in 2006?

Yep, if I remember correctly the Hotfiel effort was being presented as the Ford works team

Absolutely yes, when Ford presented the new Focus they were talking of "official back to touring car racing", and Hotfiel sports is a "Works" team.
In the meantime RS-Line found importanto sponsors to front the season in WTCC, they mounted a sequential gearbox and improved their chassis. They will continue in the Independents trophy obviously...

FIRE: you can now scrap the Volvo entry by Muhlner.

Volvo Germany has ended the cooperation with Mühlner Motorsport SPRL due to a lack of budget. This means no Volvo S60 in the German BF-Goodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft or the 24-hours of the Nurburgring, let alone a WTCC-attempt.

Nah....I'm not Dr. Krages unfortunately....
Furthermore, I do not have enough sponsorship and the only works drives I have had in the past were either Gr. N or Gr. A.
WTCC is way too expensive for a privateer today. I think I will have to go back to Formula Palmer Audi just to have some fun....Maybe, just maybe something might come up in a national gt championship with a manifacturer. But nothing is confirmed yet.
I was thinking about WTCC for a very good friend of mine who, I think, deserves a drive....

Finnish Honda Challenge one make championship winner Janel Nurminen tested JAS Honda Accord Euro-R in October. Janel was offered a WTCC drive but I think he can't get budget for that... And FIRE can mark Aivis Ohtla (not Othla) as "probably not." He has brought an Accord and will (probably) drive Baltic and/or Estonian and/or Finnish championship. Most likely in Finland.

No, he lives in Italy. And BTW Avenue des Papalins does not exist anymore in Monaco. It's now called AV. Henry Rey

Well clearly Motorsport Aktuel has an inside view not shared with UK journals - John Batchelor makes no mention of drivers in Motorsport News

The information I have still indicates they will have a "young gun" in the third seat. It would be nice to know who'll end up driving for them as the names linked to the project suggest they are serious about the WTCC, which can only be very good news for an already competitive championship.

They clearly know the interest shown on this forum with dickie mint posting the odd titbit now and again, so they must have a good reason for delaying any announcement on drivers. I just hope this bodes well for my personal favourite!

Well, I guess they do not have much time left. At least two of the three drivers mentioned are also linked to other outfits. Furthermore the fact that there has been no car shown, no tests made and no drivers announced at this stage, clearly does not do any good to the project. Sporting authorities, organisers and many other people are wondering what is happening.

John Batchelor involved in a project that seems to be all over the place?

Surely some mistake......

On February 27th, we will know the Brilliance drivers.
So it's time to stay calm and trust in John Batchelor.
