Great news. Good of BMW that they're giving Priaulx a works contract. Glad that Zanardi will stay as well

They should, although Priaulx is kept in very high esteem by Maserati's boss who is also an Englishman

I hope Ravaglia motorsport can be so fast as Schnitzer and RBM in 2005, or Garcia and Zanardi will have other hard year.

SEAT Sport third driver? I bet Frank Diefenbacher again.

I didn't follow every round of the ETCC this year but I presume Zanardi raced in each one? 15th with 8 points and a mile behind your team mate doesn't really justify another season.

Unless Zanardi is bringing his own sponsorship? Wasn't some special vehicle engineering company sponsoring him or were they just providing the technical knowhow to convert the car for Zanardi?

Aren't all the engines supplied by BMW? Or do teams build their own engines? Or does each team tweak their own BMW Motorsport supplied/purchased engine?

Each team receives engines from Motorsport but the upgrades go to Schnitzer first probably, being the works team.

Exactly that I heard. And other important thing, at least time ago, Ravaglia has/had less budget than Schnitzer and RBM.

Now that Priaulx has been offered a works driver contract for 2005, I reckon RBM will get the latest upgrades at the same time Schnitzer gets 'em.

I mean, wouldn't make much sense having a works driver who doesn't get the latest toys to play with.

Well done Rob and good luck. At the start of this year I was not sure about him at all, but as the year went and the more I saw the more impressed I became.

So the teams don't modify/tweak the engines themselves? So all the engine updates are released by BMW based on a "pecking order" of works,semi-works, privateer teams??

Can we assume that b/c Chevy hired him, Huffy probably didn't have to bring any sponsorship money with him? Has he had to bring any money to the table in the past?

I have to admit--it's weird to see Chevy involved with touring cars when most North Americans associate them with Nascar.

km, in reply to your post about Rob Huff, best to see here: www.seatcupra.net/huffyjoinschevy_061204.htm

But basically, he got into Touring Cars in 2004 with SEAT in the BTCC by winning the SEAT Cupra Cup in 2003, which he did have to fund via himself or sponsors. The SEAT contract this year was fully funded by SEAT UK and he even collected a wage, too. I'm not sure whether Chevy is paying him or not, but I'd say he will be getting paid.

Will Farfus be racing next year??
An impressive debut then a gradual slide into desperation and mistakes. At least the others will know to give him a wide berth from the very start of the season.
