PINEAPPLE RACING'S SOLID START TO THE SEASON
Pineapple Racing has started the New Gran Turismo Racing Series (NGTRS) with a solid fourth place at the daunting Nurburgring Nordschleiffe. After three laps of the 22 kilometre corner-fest, mac finished one minute off first place, but under three seconds off securing the final step on the podium. mac was pleased to pick up some valuable points though rued some crucial errors. "I screwed up my run onto the straight on the second lap which cost me a bit of time," he said. "But the third lap was truly a mess - I spun in the first part of the lap, hit the armco at the Angstkurve and was permanently sideways leading up to the straight. "I probably could have knocked 30 or 40 seconds off my overall time. "I don't know where trevisio and Mystery went - those guys must know a shortcut around here!" The Pineapple Racing crew moves on to the USA west coast for Round 2 of the NGTRS for the 15 lap slug-fest on the undulating Infineon Raceway. |

I don't know how I've managed to be a minute off the pace...my final attempt only had one off-track moment.

Fine Tune engineering race report.
FTE are happy with their first round of this years GT championship. A few mistakes were made and the team paid dearly for them Team manage John Smith had this to say: We are please with our results but we were hoping to have a newer car for the seasons next race. We also made a critical error which cost us 1 minute in our overall time. so we know we can mix it with some of the bigger boys. What the driver "Scott" had to say Very pleased with this weekends racing..the car was good but lacking compared to some of the newer cars, only one major mistake was made but otherwise it was easy to keep the car clean through the lines. I'm sure in the next race we'll be in the top five. |

Nice work Trevisio on the win and some good times posted there.
I went to a terribly anal level of detail during this challenge so I have been able to work out that had I done a perfect 3 laps - my best sector times throughout - then I would have had a 19:06 or thereabouts (will post sector times when I have access to them back at home). Makes Trevisio's time all the more impressive really. Still I'm happy with a close second and looking forward to a circuit I know much better like Sears Point. |

So, everyone's happy with the way I presented the times/standings I hope?

My pleasure.
On the topic of racing, I probably could have got third, but I was waaaaaaaaay to hot on Lap 3 and went off too much. I feel I could have been at least been... 30 odd seconds faster. Now, I'm going to have a go at Infineon! |

Just finished my first attempt, let me tell you, trying to do 15 laps without a tyre chance is not recommended! I ended up having to huge slides on the last lap and dumped a bucket of time...

My team are busy rebuilding the car for round 2 after I stacked it into the pit wall trying to maximise the in-lap on my last attempt to improve on the 19:18 time

I think this race will be a one stop race.
FTE press release The first and 2nd practice session for round 2 of the series have gone very well for team FTE. The driver did have a few heated words to the press. "The slow cars should be giving way to the faster cars on the track, trying to over take when they are 2 laps behind is just plain Stu***." The team is very excited about race day, we have decided to continue using the 99 gtr penzoile skyline, "the old girl still has some power" |

I just checked in and saw my times.....YIKES!!!!! I knew I had some off moments, and I didn't pit so my last lap was wild, but I never expected to be that off the pace. I need some practice. This time, I won't be doing it twice and calling it a day. I'll be hitting Sears Point with a vengence and won't be happy unless I score some points.
BTW, good times you guys. 19 minutes! Excellent. Last edited by rblanshard; 6 Nov 2006 at 16:33. |

Just do a load of races over and over again, you will quickly unlock the track.
I hate Infineon as well, so I'm not expecting a great result. |

As promised here is the sector breakdown of my fastest race
Lap 1 (6:45.810) - 45.2, 30.5, 24.8, 45.2, 33.6, 23.5, 45.0, 37.8, 20.1, 40.0, 20.9, 39.2 Pit for tyres Lap 2 (6:21.508) - 40.7, 31.0, 24.8, 43.9, 33.7, 24.1, 45.5, 38.5, 20.0, 37.4, 20.9, 21.0 Lap 3 (6:25.021) - 39.8, 31.2, 24.9, 43.4, 33.4, 23.3, 44.2, 40.8, 20.8, 42.2, 20.8, 20.2 Total Time 19:32.339 Also as promised here is my "ultimate" lap time of fastest sectors 6:12.200 - 39.0, 29.7, 24.8, 43.2, 33.1, 23.2, 43.5, 37.5, 19.8, 37.4, 20.8, 20.2 So when taken together with my fastest first sector on lap 1 and my fastest pit in and pit out sectors I can arrive at a potential 3 lap time of 19:03.500. In my dreams maybe Just had my first two runs at Infineon and already finding it quite hard to improve my times significantly - I don't think this means I'm just that good at it, more likely I just haven't found the right approach yet but as of right now I can't see where I can improve. Handling on the first right hander is dire though - need to find some time there for sure. |

Just had another shot, managed to take six seconds off my old time, but once again my tyres were deep red at the end. Pit stop might be the order of the day soon.

Judging by the state of my tyres at the end of 3 lap runs I'm gonna have to stop. Possibly twice. Or maybe I should drive sideways less
