Silverstone Track Radio frequency

Hello,

I am a total newbie here, so I apologise in advance if my request sounds silly.

I will be a spectator at Silverstone this week-end for the motoGP and I need to find out on what band and frequency the radio commentary is transmitted. FM or AM? I have searched the forum but I have found posts that only relate to marshal's radio frequency, and I don't think I'm interested in any of that!

Thanks in advance!

From the silverstone website

Quote:
Silverstone TV and Radio
Silverstone TV will be broadcast on giant screens around the circuit – and Silverstone Radio on 87.7FM, transmitted 24 hours a day throughout the event, helping MotoGP ticket-holders keep track of the action from all around the circuit. Radios can be bought from shops in Bridge, Paddock and Arena.
For locations of our giant screens please see the site map for details. The England vs Algeria game will be shown on the Woodlands Campsite screen and on the Arena screen.

Hello everybody,

thank you very much I had tried to look in the "Silverstone" website, but clearly I was being incompetent.

I shall be enjoying the week-end then!

Silverstone on FM?? wow - great step forward - 87.7 seems to be the standard events frequency, goodwood etc.

But most events I ve done at Silverstone that are on the radio, have been on MW, I got caught out last year at the Renault World Series - stupidly packing only an FM radio with no am.

Its it just this weekend that its FM or is that now the standard????

Most of the big events are on 87.7FM, smaller events are on 1602MW.

They have used 87.7FM for at least 9 years to my (limited) knowledge.

I'd take something that covers both bands? FIA GT was on 1602 back in May...

Brands is on 87.7 so it seems that this is the common frequency.

Both Goodwood events operate on 87.7FM, but Thruxton is always on 1602AM.
