david5 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hey guys, lots of ATCC action coming in the next three months or so.

All 1/18, Biante have Brock HDT VLs, Moffat & Peter McLeod RX7s, Grice & Morris Toranas, GIO & GMS R32 Skylines.

CC have Perkins 95 Bathurst Commodore out this week & 97 coming. Lots of Aussie stuff

I did notice some folks from here pop up on the biante site.

Some of my models

Cheers David

A lot of requests on the Aussie diecast sites for Spa & Monza versions of the VLs as well. We can only hope.

Would like to see the Rover. Bastos & Mobil versions spring to mind. A Mr Slako from Perth did a bright Pink one as well.

The '84 VK always looks wrong without the Marlboro signage.

Is there an appointed distributor/retailer for OZ related diecast subjects in Europe?
I would like to get my hands on one or two models, but can't face the huge shipping charges of having them sent by airmail....
On a related topic, I got hold of the recently introduced Bastos RS500 from Minichamps, but be aware there are one or two problems. First is the rear ride height - it looks far too generous for me. I'm not sure how to get around this, but I suspect the problem stems from what looks like oversize wheels and tyres. The second is easier to correct - there are no air jacks sticking out of the underside of the car. These are very obvious in any decent photo of an ETCC spec RS500. Speaking of Minichamps, their decision to offer a new line of MKII rally Escorts is odd. More so when you consider that the Roger Clark Cossack Escort was (reasonably) done by SunStar in the recent past. And yes - I add my voice to those who think we need a decent Rover Vitesse/SD1. Question is - will it be 'wider' than it should be?....... :>)

I'm not sure that there is an appointed distributor. The Biante stuff is sometimes just marketed as Autoart in some European ebay and trade ads? My JPS 635 is just Autoart, but i'm sure it has Biante on the box in Australia?

I've got that Bastos Sierra too but hadn't taken the time to check it over in great detail. My Eggenberger/Texaco one certainly does appear a bit high at the rear though but my 'Dicko' one doesn't which is a bit odd when they've all come from the same mould/build process?

Cough cough, splutter, I don't know about your last bit..... I think we had an ex TWR engineer come on in the Rover thread and scoff at all the 7/8ths size rumours. He was quite upset actually!!

Perhaps we all need to rally one of the diecast manufacturers (Minichamps have a 1:43 imminent) to build a 1:18 Bastos Vitesse at the very least!!

Cuts down on the glare, but I think its just a reflection from the big yellow helmet just out of shot beside it.

Picked this up today. You guys will know it from its Grp 2 ETC days. It was purchased by Allan Moffat when the Cologne Competition department closed. Its last race by the works team was in Sth Africa in the hands of Jody Schecter & Dereck Bell & was shipped to Aust. After some modidfications it was used by Moffat in Sports Sedan races in 1975 & in 1976 helped him win the first National Sports Sedan Championship. He also used a Dekron Chevy Monza in the tittle chase.

This has just been released, the HDT 1987 Holden Commodore VL. This is the 05 car of Peter Brock & David Parsons which DNF in the WTCC round at Mt Panorama. The drivers switched to the teams back up car to win with Peter McLeod after Rudi's Sierras were dsq. for bodywork breaches.

Not a race version but I notice that Norev have produced quite tidy looking 1:18 Mk3 Capris apparently for the German market:

There some on ebay uk now, but I'm going to look at ebay France and Germany and see if there's more available there.

Hopefully we will see some race versions later....
