GTSCC and Derek Bell Trophy are the only rolling starts for the weekend.

I`ll be there from lunchtime(Alfa Romeo #57) along with some of my friends.

Come and say hello.

I am not exactly overmanned for this meeting, so if any drivers fancy a day on the bank flagging please let me know.

PTRACER should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The timing went tits up during qualifying and I think someone in the Classic Racing Cars series was on pole with a 30-something second lap and an average speed of 260mph.

DBT was red flagged at some point, I think it was restarted, although I wasn't watching. Three or four cars got taken out in an incident on the first lap of the FF2000 race, I believe just going onto the International circuit.

I think there were more racing related personnel at the track than there were spectators, it was pretty deserted spectator wise.

driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
these events should be free to spectators then there would be more folk there watching wandering the paddock and spending some money in the shops etc
the dumb circuit owners do not realise this fact charge fortune to the clubs for races to be put on and want the gate money
they then employ 10 or so security men and get no income !!!

I wandered around most of the bits of the circuit that one can get to with the 'International' configuration.

If I assume that half the people in the spectator areas were connected with a team and likely entered on team tickets then there were probably a couple of hundred paying spectators. Difficult to judge really since the expanse of Silverstone and the way the structures are means you could lose a few hundred people quite easily.

Out of interest does anyone know how many people Silverstone attracted for the free Renault World Series event last year?

According to the Renault Sport website there were 110,000 over the weekend. Silverstone does have a habit of swallowing people up though-there were 27,000 for FIA GT last weekend but the grandstands looked empty.

What type of E Type was it,Real old or new?The first laps of last six hours were very interesting with some E types passing GT 40's on straight.Makes this old car racing very questionable although the car yesterday was/could have been real but you still ask the question.

Rule of thumb.
If the E Type lapped quicker than 1.38 it is very, very quick .

The number of laps completed wrong, we think we did about 37.The live tv screens gave us 3rd place as did the comentator do the maths it does not work out.
If they can't do a one hour race what hope the 3 hours at snetterton.

mst website is sadly lacking in info and data so as has been suggested a timing issue is the problem. I'm sure it'll get confirmed one way or another as its all still done manually as well . . .it just doesn't get posted as quickly!

PTRACER should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
As I've said already, there was a timing issue at the track and some people were given laptimes of 30 seconds and an average speed of 260mph during qualifying. Others in the same race were given more realistic times, but they still came out much slower than they thought.
