I do hope you don't expect to get away with that Claire.
Whilst on the subject, why is it that drivers chose NOT to come off from race speed when the yellows are out? It's not as if anyone will lose their possition, ultimately all they are doing is increasing the Safety Car Period whilst we have to wait for A]The tailenders to catch up.B] The drivers who have not decreased their speed in order to be in front of said safety car.
Cause for a little more education perhaps, but then again it would not be unfair to assume that those drivers know the rule's anyway.

I would just like to thank everybody who supported the meeting either as a driver, marshal or official. It was a great demonstration of faith to stick with it up to the eleventh hour and I'd like to thank all those who sent kind messages of support and encouragement.
Finally - can we please stop all the snide remarks about 'hired hands' etc. Masters Racing Club, which runs the Masters Series race meetings is no different from any other organising club in the way that officials and marshals are treated (although I hope the marshals feel that we're one of the better clubs in showing our appreciation).
None of the senior officials is paid (including myself) and the expenses we draw are the same or less than any other club that I know of (and I've worked with a few!). Perhaps it's beyond some peoples comprehension that we do what we do for the love and enjoyment of the sport and the only difference with Masters is that we do our jobs with people, the vast majority of whom, understand and enjoy the culture that we're trying to promote and appreciate our efforts to run good meetings. Rant over!

Briefly back to the brake light not being checked comment, I have to say at virtually ever meeting the scruts have checked mine and on a couple of occassions I have had to correct something, once a bulb and once a poor earth.

I accept rant but no snide comment intended.I just think that people such as you who have a connection with an /any organisation should make it transparent as you do at all times.
Without the unpaid army of volunteers we all understand that grassroots racing would not exist and power to them.
The posts are aimed at the OTT plugs for Masters by brother Fenman the Shepherd.
By the way Masters did a good job in difficult circumstances even if the shepherd made the one mistake.

As a spectator I noticed this yesterday for the first time as far as I can remember.

Whilst it is not unusual or unreasonable for some lights not to work or for them to give up in the middle of a race it was surprising just how many cars seemed not to have any brake lights at all (that were working) right from the start.

If people are expecting working lights then they should be working. If brake lights are not a requirement then expectations should be set accordingly but I suspect that having working lights is beneficial to all including the spectators who can better see what the driving involves.

Have you told John this?
Sorry! Which model Simon? I started a full resto on one many years ago,got half way through it,then the owner got bored with it and stored it in his back garden, where saddly it stayed for many years.I am not sure but would have thought that they would be eligable for HTPs?

The Turner? Its a Mk2 Climax. Unusual in so much as it was sold new built and still has the same Climax engine and as a special order is the only one to have a wooden dashboard. Mine had early clubbie history but as they regularly ran in international events in 61/62 (with the Tatty Turner obviously being most well known) they are eligible and I believe I am right in saying that mine was the first to get papers. There seems to be a cross over starting from HSCC HRS spec cars to FIA spec as owners start to realize that longer races are more fun and more importantly more small engined cars (like Elites) are coming out.... our next outing is GD at Brands in a couple weeks
