Petrov in trouble???

Today, Italiaracing came with a "scoop" from Autohebdo, that claims Petrov has his place at Renault in risk because he didn't pay yet the enornomous backing he promised. The team has put on him a deadline on March to pay half of his 2010 budget and the rest of it on July.

I don't know about the veracity of the matter, but made me curious about it.

Joe Saward has the same story in more detail. He doesn't normally run a story unless he thinks there is some truth in it.

Sato would be ideal for Renault because he's quite happy to crash without being asked. It would be good to have him back though, even though I have doubts about his ability.

Grosjean ? Why ??
Bourdais ? Why ??
Sato ?? Why ???

Got to be worth giving Anthony Davidson a chance at a hopefully competitve drive. He is very underrated.

Underrated by whom? He's constantly talked-up on here.

I'd like to see Grosjean back in the car. I think he'd have a lot to offer if given proper preparation.

Presumably if Petrov was required to bring 15million Euro that is the asking price of the seat

Renault were very keen on Davidson last year, but it's a new team now...

Renault need someone with serious budget as the money from Renault was seriously cut.

If Petrov is in trouble, then Bruno could be a viable option, he has plenty of backing...

But does he have the £15 Million that Petrov promised?

Ok, so a promise ain't worth a damn until it's delivered, but still!

I think they'll take as much as they can get, rather than specifically £15m. Otherwise they might have to wait a while

to me all the trumpeting said was that his payment deadline was at the beginning of march and his manager was having bother finding the money from anyone but his father... i doubt very much he'll fail to come up with the cash.

have you seen his manager?! if she tells you to give her money, you damn well give her money....

She's not related to that frankly terrifying woman who loiters around Alonso is she?

(I think she is Alonso's PA, but I can't remember her name.)

He ain't got no cash though and Renault need cash it seems...talent is only a secondary consideration.
