It seems overall that we prefer simple colour schemes..

i have to agree with what someone said earlier. I used to love getting autosport magazine and looking at the new liveries throughout the 90s and stuff. But nowadays, it just doesn't seem the same. I know we have always been in sponsorship era's for a while now, but the 90s were definately better for variety. Still glad to see the thread took off.

Minichamps need to release the 1993 lola as a model !

In a previous life I worked for an automotive interior designer that did some consultancy work for Peter Stevens. His design maxim was 'every line must lead somewhere' or words to that effect - such a shame most other designers don't have such values.

Why does that car have Goodyear sponsorship on the front wing but Avon tires?

Tried to buy an early 80's Goodyear F1 slick recently?

NAC, I am sure the local JPS BMW's had a similer effect on me, and no I never did smoke.

It did run Goodyears in period, but today most historic F1 cars run on Avon slicks/wets as they're among the few tyre manufacturers that make suitable rubber for them.

The 1999 Jordan has been mentioned, as has the 2000 Arrows (which certainly was nicer than the 2002 car - I have an embroidered picture of The Boss driving the 2000 car in my room. My mum spent ages on it. She was disappointed to finish it, only to be told the team went bust a year ago...).

I'm picking cars from '98 on (when I started watching F1) and I'm thinking of...

The Stewart Ford SF3 (1999).

The 1999 Williams (even though it wasn't in keeping with traditional Williams colours).

And this surprise contender, though more for the curves! (2004)!

the jordan 191 was a great body, but i never liked the 7-up livery. for me, the best liveries were the arrows with orange backing, the mclarens with west/johnny walker/vodafone backing and the 1994 saubers. the yellow and black jordan's with the benson's and hedges liveries were also great...

You didn't like the 7up livery? That is blasphemy
