Its been going on since forever.
Nigel Mansell once claimed one of his greatest motorsport achievements was staying 25 for 5 years.... Although the younger the person the more 'appealing' they are, you still have to do the business, so i don't really see the fuss or whats 'bizarre' about it (according to the author) |

They have to do this, or they'll risk being labelled old and said to have "lost it", then be replaced by some up-and-comer from another series (who proceeds to smash up the car in every session he participates in), all because they have to give "the young guys a go".

Well some of these people get so wrapped up in what peoples ages are rather than who gets the job done it does get silly. I really don't care if someone takes a few off their age.
