CART stock

I think it was Indycool who was spreading a little gloom a few days ago, by letting us know that CART stock (MPH) was down to $3.10. Sounded like a bargan so I bought 500 shares. Its $3.59 right now 81/2% just today. Thanks Mr Cool.

It closed at $3.65 todays gain:11.96%. Not bad, gonna get more. Thanks Snrub but I'm not the kinda guy that buys IBM or GM. Anyway CART has had the most dedicated critics money can buy( you there AutoWeak? T.G.?) and has driven the price well below what it should be. True, there is no sure things; but I think this will be a winner, in an outherwise gloomy market.

MPH probably dropped too much earlier this week. You caught a rebound. Not sure how long I'd hold it, since I think you have most of your profit already in hand. I'd definitely sell before the quarterly report comes out in mid-February.

Also watch out about the Forsythe dumping rumors. If they are true the stock will take a beating when it becomes public.

Be happy take your profit.

I can't see why Forsyth would be selling large quanties at so low a price. I think MPH Will be 14-16$ this time next year. The good news is comming so rapidly it has silenced all the knowlegeable detractors..... Still there are those who feel that if they watch the Kentucky Derby and Indy 500, they know all about racing.

Just reporting the facts aint doom and gloom in my book. Bptccwspbf's stock might have some upside since they have enough cars to race - but not much in my opinion. Pook needs to come up with a business plan that stops burning the companies cash. IF mph hits $5.00 I will short the stock. Shorting MPH is fun, kind of like like stealing candy from a baby.
SEC records indicate Forsyth sold 170,000 shares of MPH on dec 24.

Well that reverses Forsythe's trend. Not a rumor now, a verified fact.

sgw2- thanks for the link

It seems as though Gerry mad a decent loss on the shares he purchased earlier in December.... also, Pat Patrick had a decent win when he sold at $25 back in 2000!

I wouldn't blow the Forsythe sale out of proportion. It's called year end tax planning.

I wonder if it was to offset the income he made from his fabulously successful race in Mexico.

Quite possibly.

I don't want to be the one to introduce a new form of CART/IRL niggle, but I wonder how Floyd went with his garage sale of obsolete machinery?

Forsythe sold that stock a few days before Christmas because his wife was moody and he bought her a fur coat.

Norman-normal, you're welcome, if you're saying thanks. Take the money and buy yourself a big steak. Watching the Kentucky Derby and Indy 500 doesn't make one a financial expert either and I wouldn't pretend that I am.

But, as sgw2 said, the next quarterly is going to show the Pookfare and a serious drop in the MPH war chest. All financial analysts but one (Dennis McAlpine) have dropped the stock and no longer follow it, including A.G. Edwards, which marketed the IPO in the first place.

And Forsythe's sale is odd since he had stacked up so much of it with the BoD waiver of the "poison pill" provision. It'd be an oddball tax deal because it would only bring in around $500,000-600,000. The loss reported would be substantial, though.

End of season tax planning, as mentioned by flatspot. Stocks are merely high roller gambling, and reading the stock market or peoples' individual actions is about as reliable as examining sheep entrails.

If you're buying MPH stock to get rich tomorrow afternoon, you are probably one of those who really believed you were going to win the Powerball over Christmas. Gambling should be fun or you shouldn't do it.

Indycool its becomming obvious that you have some sort of financial arrangement with Tony George. This goes way beyond meddlesome curiosity evan for an authoritarian type. Are you familiar with the term 'flame bate'?

Pretty dumb having $100M in the bank and zero cars on the grid, you have to spend money to make money and Cart needed to spend to overhaul itself and keep the show alive. Some of you can judge now but I'll be leaving it for later when there's something to judge. Results. Bit hard to judge how Cart's 2 year stability plan went in the first 2 weeks of it.

Norman-normal, say what you will. Those were facts presented. And, actually, sgw2's link shows not one but two sales by Forsythe, one for 170,000 shares, another for 135,000, the same day. You started a thread on MPH stock. I commented OT. Simple as that.
