Homebush-Only 2 Support Categories
A few years ago there were 5 support categories at Homebush. This year only Dunlop V8's and Utes. Not much value for my $300 Grandstand seats!
Leaves plenty of time for track walks and fun runs I suppose.Bet that V8SA will still find a way to put a few hours of gaps with time certain finishes cutting these support races short each day. |

As someone who has been a staunch supporter of the Homebush race, I gotta say that this is bordering on a farce. Two support categories over a three day 'festival'?
And what is the concert this year at Homebush...? How do the people at NSW Events feel about this I wonder? |

They might have to red flag both races and allow the cars to be worked on to drag things out a bit ?

How many support categories do the other street races get?
I dont remember any V8SC meeting having only two support categories. Even in the lowest times. |

Gold Coast 2 weeks ago set a record low of 3.This sets a new record. There has never been less than 4 at any of the Street events until this.

Not sure if its a downward spiral or a monumental scheduling stuff up
Why would the promoter dump F3 when there isnt much else to recommend the weekend, support category wise? The main game will be a dead rubber championship wise, Mr Ambrose will stir up some interest (the promoters will hope so!)... the Dunlop series is a dead rubber too... the Utes is still up in the air... We shall see what happens... What's IPRA doing that weekend? |

F3 struggles to attract more than 10 cars.
Even the state series won't prop them up when they're in town. Suprised Carrera Cup doesn't run there. |

F3 might struggle to attract more than ten entries but the racing at the recent PI and SMP Rounds has been nothing less than sensational.
Better than the slow motion racing in the Utes! More likely V8 Supercars making it less financially viable for support categories to run on their programs. Look at how FF has thrived since moving to the Shannons Nationals Series. |

I was going to buy a ticket for this event. With so few support categories and very few grandstand choices, I will not bother.. Last time I attended this event there were several more grandstand options.. Not sure why this event is allowed to continue???

Going by what Mr Warburton said about support categories in the latest AA, is it any wonder some of them wanted to give a street circuit a miss?
I'm pretty disappointed about the lack of a concert for the second year running, especially as the concerts were supposedly such a crucial element of selling the race in the beginning. Has "Rock and Race" run it's course? |

Does the concert increase ticket sales by more than the cost of putting on the concert. Big concert with big name has to cost a million plus to put on. Thats a lot of extra tickets to sell As for only two support categories, its far from ideal, especially when Clipsal will have 7 (or 8) But im thinking that most classes have now finished for the year, maybe they like the longer break at year end |

They've had 12 months to prepare and plan for this 'event', I'm sure with some foresight they could have got any number of categories interested in a supporting slot at Homebush. Sorry but this reeks of poor management and taking the fans/taxpayers of NSW for granted. |

This event must be in it's death spiral in the first year of the new contract. In 2009 there were 36 grandstands compared to 3 this year.Corporate areas have reduced by the same proportion.
The casuals and corporates have already quit the event mainly due to lousy GA viewing and perceived lack of value in corporate stands. All that is left are hard core fans who aren't impressed by hour after hour of no track activity after paying increasing admission prices. |

I think V8Supercars are willing to cop a loss on this event, they possibly think the 'image' portrayed by competing at Homebush improves the look of the championship overall. It is just interesting that of all the V8Supercar promoted events, in what was always talked about as their most important market to crack for so long... they deliver no post-race entertainment unlike all the other street races, and deliver the smallest amount of support races. |

Maybe this is the way they can condense their meetings, with only three categories they can near have one day meetings... |

I dont think they want one day meetings, they want two days starting at lunch time. Im going to PI next weekend, will be arriving at about 11.30 on both days, )one because of travel the other because we are celebrating a birthday on the sat night) the need to get there early is not there |

Or maybe it's just **** poor planning/management from a company that is taking its fans and NSW taxpayers money for granted. Ying/Yang.
