jondownunder should be qualifying in the top 5 on the gridjondownunder should be qualifying in the top 5 on the grid
Drivers due to test at Le Castellet/Paul Ricard, 6th-7th December:

Carlin: Jan Heylen
Comtec: Susie Stoddart, Danilo Dirani, Jaap Van Lagen, Mehdi Bennani, Renger Van der Zande
Cram: Ben Hanley
DAMS: Yann Clairay
Draco: Michael Ammermuller
Epsilon: Felipe Albuquerque, Bertrand Baguette(?)
Eurointernational: Lin Po Heng
GD Racing: Ralph Meichtry
Interwetten.com: Oliver Jarvis
Jenzer: Pierre Servin, Renger Van der Zande(?)
KTR: Pekka Saarinen
Pons: Carlo Van Dam
RC Motorsport: Laurent Groppi
Saulnier: Nelson Merlo
Victory: Jesper Wulff

(source: italiaracing.net)

I'm assuming Van der Zande may only test for Comtec, as he was not listed in the site's most recent update (nor was Baguette at Epsilon).

Why is Carlin testing Heylen? I thought Fleming and Ashelin were confirmed? Or is Heylen just preparing for his Champcar test?

That would make sense - I can't imagine Comtec would test five drivers.

I think Heylen's test is a reward for winning the Megane Trophy - some of the other drivers are also being offered the test by Renault for their performances in the various FR 2.0 series I believe.

I hope Saarinen will impress the team and get a seat for 2006 season. This was his 3rd season in FR2.0 and I think he really should move forward.

For some reason he gets less media publicity than other FR2.0 drivers (Mustonen, Nyman) in Finland. He doesn't seem to have too much sponsors either so I'm not sure if he can afford FR3.5 WS season.

As reward for their recent achievements in the National Formula Renault Championships, fifteen young drivers from all around the world will have the opportunity to test with the World Series teams at the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit, on December 6-7, the next step in the World Series winter test programme.
Official Renault press release...seems like a busy test day.
Hopefully some of the youngsters will shine on these days.

I know in Brazil there are sponsoring systems (like the one that Barrichello did for his career)... wonder why Tuka doesn't attached one.

But well, if Tuka signs with Draco it will be a superb ground for him, in order to rise up his career.

Thanks for the info, god knows where i got the Draco history from?, all i could remember was that he did Euro 3000 and was pretty quick

Moving on, i agree with you Mekola, but i guess the same could be said for Reece and some other guys with regards to supporting youinger lesser known Brazilians? They haven't focused on them for a while, but i remember Rubens, Eduar Neto, Marco Campos (he would have been tremendous driver) coming through with Draco's help..

Notice Dirani's keeping his GP2, WSR options open then? he needs to get himself in a competiitive team next year whatever he does as he might be starting to fall off the radar a little, regardless of whetehr or not BAR (Honda) have decided to back him a bit.

There is no link between Tuka and Draco. Draco want a LOT of money for a drive.

Hmm...nice results from the Dutchies.

Jaap van Lagen impresses on his return. Carlo van Dam beats Giedo van der Garde (bye bye European single seater career Giedo?) and Renger van der Zande was just having fun

Don't forget Van Lagen is a experienced WS by R driver.

Van der Garde did just 30 laps in the afternoon session only - why is his time disappointing? In the morning session his time would have been 2nd fastest!

Because so far he hasn't shown why he should step up from F3.
Every time he's tested he is either down the list or beaten by fellow Dutchies.

Impressing the times that Maldonado did with Draco... and that Aleshin did with Carlin. That confirms my expectatives, specially about the Russian driver.

Van Lagen... could be better see him in GP2.

Why is Alejandro Nunez doing fairly well considering he was nothing more than a backmarker in the F3 Euroseries?
