Yes, you defend all the Aussies like hell, we don't need to even argue about that. :P

2nd was really awesome. Also good to see Javi back on the podium after he had a disappointing 2008 season. He seems better in the Super Nova.

Bamber profited again from the T1 outside line game!

However he was fortunate that Van Der Drift, a very aggressive driver by any standards, gave him the room when Earl squeezed him to the outside through T2!!!

It will be interesting to monitor Earl's development thorugh the series. A stunning debut for one so young it has to be said and my driver of the meeting.

Otherwise let's see:

Valsecchi drove solid Race 2, Villa got on with it once he passed Chris VDD, but perhaps would have challenged Earl if he hadn't had gone off at the hairpin early on?

Sergio Perez steamed through from the back somehow, but then seed to run out of steam near the end when he got onto the back of the VDD, D'Ambrosio, Rodriguez train?

Oh and Mr Zuber distinguished himself again, blowing it on Lap 1 by narrowly not avoiding Nunez!!!!

Overall the signs are that it will be a cracking series and very open too.

I wondered if Bamber's great debut in A1GP the other week would be followed up in GP2, and it certainly has.

I was at the race. I just made it there for the second GP2 race. The cars looked good and sound great. They really add something to the event. The cars come around fast enough (1:50 or so by my estimate) to keep us interested. GP2 should be there for every overseas F1 race.

Earl Bamber drove really well, but I guess he tired a little near the end. That's understandable given that it was just his first GP2 weekend ever.
