Green because he is the best on the list (not that it counts for a lot) also he has produced better results than the other nine after competing in cars for just three or four years, he has produced in every class immediately. But he could be beaten to f1 by Hamilton purely because of his McLaren connections. IMHO

Could be any one of 5 or 6 worthy drivers on that list, it depends on who can get/retain a budget and connections.

The most of the drivers shows promise but unless they can step up to F1 we can't judge them allegedly. For the moment, I see Ant Davidson as the possible next British star, but about the others perhaps Sharp, Green and Hamilton could get this title.

Going to wait until Button is the next Mansell or Hill before passing final judgement, and keep an eye on all the others (Davidson, Wilson, etc, and that scottish bloke, you know, with the big jaw?). And lest we forget, since the last British F1 champion, the Brit who has come closest to winning the championship is Eddie Irvine.

I only say that because the best British drivers are often somewhat unsung.

So, for me, on talent, Jamie Green or Adam Carroll (though Green's more likely cos of Adam's sponsorship troubles). But I'm voting for Danny Watts, cos that would just be so much more fun, on the basis that he would be the next James Hunt.

I voted hamilton, tho I hope Jamie will get there first: normally people get crazy for drivers who make the super laptimes, but a consistent driver is a fundamental resource.

racingdad has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Of the drivers listed, Hamilton has got to be ahead of the pack. But Ant Davidson has a better chance than any of them. Green has got to be in with a good shout, while Lloyd is a good outside bet. Least likely (IMO) Sharp, Bridgeman, Mansell.

I think it *could* be Lewis because of his connections, though I believe Jamie may get there first. Who would I most like to see get there? Danny or Alex Lloyd, basically because it's not so certain as say Lewis or Jamie that they'll get there. I hope Ant Davidson gets a "proper" chance in the near future too - however there are quite a few on that list who I don't think have much of a chance at all.

The funny thing is that both Mansell and Hill didn't have a great career before they actually started winning in F1. It took Mansell 5 years of F1 before he'd win, and Hill best championship result before F1 was 3rd in F3 in his 3rd season. So results at this moment would in this scenario mean not so much.

imho it is pretty hard to judge at the moment who's going to be the next Mansell or Hill. Funds for decent opportunities at the next level will be very important. And a bit of luck of course.
Of the people on the list Davidson, Green and Hamilton seem to have the best "network" for opportunities at this moment, so i guess they could have a shot at it.

I'd like to think Adam Carroll may get a chance to race F1 but (BAR test notwithstanding) will he get that chance?

on talent, excitement and commitment , carroll is top of a closely fought list. on actual possibility (f1 now being just a big business) then probably hamilton or green.

How come Robbie Kerr is not on this list?. Case of out of site out of mind. The smart money must go on the guys with the finace or connections to see it through. But strange things happen. It would only take an infusion of budget for some of the outsiders to sprint past the post, possibly Danny Watts, Alex Lloyd. I think it's a little bit early to talk about Tim Bridgeman or Mike Conway.

Can I have another 8 votes please? I voted Hamilton. But I'd like to see them all making a career of driving, whether it's F1 or another series.

Button needs to at least match the stats of DC before we start worrying about "the new Jenson"
