It was indeed, sadly a broken driveshaft in qualifying meant a very early shower.

I presume this is one of Mr McNally's VZ's?

The other painted shell looks interesting... a BJR VE?

It appears not... wiser heads than mine have suggested that this is actually the ex-Drew Russell VZ, which was the MES/Van Zelm converted by Mr Rennie's Dynamik equipe to full VZ specs.

The story goes that Mr Russell has traded in the VZ on one of BJR's now-ancient Ford Falcon BA's...

Are these cars really selling for these sorts of dollars? I mean, if somone is asking 150k for a 1987-1990 Grp A car with decent pedigree but not championship winning, but round wins...are they going to get that sort of money. I am thinking the ANZ Sierra, i know of a similar car for sale and i really want to buy it, but not sure where the offer turns into an insult. If similar cars really fetch 150k then i will just keep dreaming

This has been mentioned on this thread some time ago...and it's still for sale. For a car in which Brock sat once or twice at most, it's a big big price.

Yep, in the days of the Valvoline Cummins one car for Richo Jnr, was running in Privateers too at the time.

Went on to ne the Ultra Tune car for Mick Donaher.

Gibson Motorsport VRs

GRM had 2 Gibson Commodores.

The car raced in 96 by Steven Richards was GMS003 the car he had raced at Bathurst in 95, having previously been raced by his father in 95 and by Skaife in 94. It was sold to Gary Dumbrell and raced by Darren Hossack in 97, before returning to Gibson Motorsport as the Darren Pate car for 98.

The car raced by Richards in 97/98 before passing to Garth Tander for the rest of 98 was one of the cars Gibson raced in 96. It was raced by the Ultra Tune team in 99/00. I always thought this was GMS004, but from the ad perhaps not.

Don't know of a better place to put it, but a recent ad in a motoring paper of one of the ex-B&H Sierra's prompted this thought;

At Wanneroo in 1990, Rd7 of that years ATCC, B&H Racing ran a third car, #62 for Neville Crichton (in addition to regulars Longhurst & Jones). What was the reason for the extra car, especially out in the west, and especially as Crichton didn't feature in their endurance race plans for that year.

Is it the real deal? If so it indicates its the car built up for the '84 enduro's out of a spare VH shell the Janson team had.

Wasn't this car at the Muscle Car Masters a few years back (with its stable mate, the 80-83 Janson car) in 'more accurate' guise?

I remember a very similar car being on my105 about six months back as a Sports Sedan in Bathurst. Sold to Qld. It does have some Grp C fittings, a thought is it may be the original Citizen Watches VB/C/H ex Cooke/O'Brien/Toepfer/Mathews?

I thought this was the car raced by Aaron McGill in the later part of last year and early this year before the budget dried up. Did he not own the car or has it been sold back to its former owners?
