Anglesey Circuit Updates

This question has been asked in another Forum on here but mainly from a Competitors point of view.

Has there been any further work done over the winter at Anglesey?
(So, from a Marshals POV)...Marshals Posts, Number of Toilets etc.

I know there was talk last season of providing some sort of marshals Posts.

Like you Mark, I don't know but I guess some big improvements will need to take place before the Fun Cup meeting later in the year?

weren't we told the only reason there were no proper marshal posts last year was because they were temporary to make sure it all worked and proper posts would be built over the winter........ i sure hope thats happening after last years weather!!!!!!!!!!!!

I DO recall Terry telling us about something being constructed for Marshals up towards Post 8, but don't know of anything else.

This is true, but I spoke to him when walking back to the car park and its not all the posts unfortunately. It sounds like its just the "main" ones that are manned for track days etc. eg. I think post 8 is being done but not 7 or 9.

I to hoped it would all be done for this year.

I would have though the fun cup would have wanted pit garages?

At least they've got some kerbs/rumble-strips now (as seen from a recent trackday video).

I was under the impression that a Marshals Hut at Post 8 would be sited so as to cover posts 7,8 & 9 in one go!

I may be (Probably) wrong, but I'm sure that's what Terry said last year!
(He also promised me a Plasma TV screen in there too )

Thanks. Interesting to see the circuit and lots of kerbing. Hope it keeps our hooligans under control but doubt it at Radar.

No other facilities visible.

Where's Radar? Is that the new name for the 'corner with no name' after Peel and before Tom Price Straight?

Radar doesn't exist now, Jim. It's part of a spectator bank. Mind you, Rocket is a worthy replacement as a damn difficult corner with lots of incidents.

Thanks, but I have marshalled before - so know to take T-shirt. sunblock, sunglasses, sun-hat, cold drinks, full wet-weather gear, gloves, thermal underwear, balaclava, woollen hat and flask of hot coffee.

I just wondered if there was anything different here?

Sorry didn't meen it to sound as if you hadn't marshalled before, I meant that Anglesey is one of those places with its own weather system and not to be supprised if it snows in July!!!

yeah, the usual gear will need to be beefed up if last years weather is anything to go by! bare in mind its still a very new circuit, so things might not be as "pretty" as other circuits, but its the best atmosphere by far. as yet, there are no pit garages, which as a pit marshal will probably be the main thing to deal with, especially in the fun cup meeting.

No problem - I have found that all circuits have their own weather systems and especially those nearer the coast

No garages eh? How about a pit office for the marshals (s*d the drivers) to hide in from the snow?

Anyone a regular there? the 18th is shown as 'Supercar Sunday' is this the fun-cup?

Thanks for putting that right. As I spent three very wet days at Rocket only a few months ago my excuse must be that the water got in and did some damage to the mechanism.
