Ex Supercar Drivers

Every year there is a turnover of Supercar drivers.
Some have well publicised departures (recently Bright, Kelly and Moffat); others just "disappear. This can be due to sponsorship changes, or the mechanics thinking he was too hard on the car, etc. etc.

Thinking about this I came up with the ten names below that you just don't hear anything about now. These are in no particular order:

1....Dale Brede
2....Alan Gurr
3....Steve Ellery
4....Paul Romano
5....Simon Wills
6....Michael Patrizi
7....Adam Macrow
8....Marcus Marshall
9....Greg Ritter
10...Cameron McLean

What happened to them, and what are they doing now?

A few of them are probably on Facebook and such.

Macrow ran in the 12 Hour recently and it was his first race in a few years, there was an article on Speedcafe saying that he wanted to make a comeback.

Cameron McLean has a mechanic's shop somewhere on the Brisbane northside.

Does't Michael Patrizi have a go kart business / race team / hire ( in association with Daniel Ricciardo )? There was a video on youtube recently with Whincup and SvG at some track and it was run by MP.

Presumably for Kalari Transport, his father Tony Noske's business and (part?) sponsor of Tony's racing Commodore back in the day? Unless Tony sold out and moved on. hrug:

I don't believe Kalari exists anymore, so I can't say who he drives for.

What's David Besnard up to these days?

There has been a lot of good young drivers over the years that just couldn't crack it and then fell off the radar!!

I have a feeling that Tony sold out in the mid-late 1990's. He then set up Noske Heavy Haulage or Oversize (big rigs moving big gear) which is, sadly, no longer around.

He may well have shied away from motorsport after the WePaySlowly experience

A couple of years ago Noske Group was in administration owing creditors $17 million..... they went into voluntary administration in September 2015.

Quote:
THE financially-troubled Noske Group has been sold, leaving creditors almost $17million out-of-pocket.
Tom Girdwood from the group’s appointed administrators PPB Advisory said on Friday that a creditors meeting held in Melbourne on Thursday had approved the sale of Noske’s transport and woodchip haulage operations to Tasmanian trucking magnate Chas Kelly. The Noske Group went into voluntary administration in September 2017.
The group’s main operations in Portland involve the transport of woodchips between the South West Fibre woodchip mill at Myamyn and the Port of Portland.

The business is now known as Kelly Logistics. Tony Noske was retained at the time. (2 years ago.)He holds the position of GM Operations & Business Development
Kelly paid $735,000 for the business and in addition guaranteed partial payment of some debts to employees and others
