Planty should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Belgian GT racing 2010

On pages http://www.autosport.be there are two series - Belgian GT and Belgian Endurance Championship.
Because Belgian GT changed again i wonder if these two series are merged.
Also on the year schedule the first race for Endurance is Zolder- same as the Belgian GT. Are these two series merged into one- Belcar?
Or are they just running race together with just separate classification?

thanks

Nope, just one series now.

Results from race 1: Here. 37 cars on the grid, looks good to me, after some lean years with GT3 only rules. Looking forward to see them at Spa on the 12hrs weekend.

Last year we had 3 major championchips in Belgium: Belgian GT, Belgian Touring Car Series and Dunlop Endurance Cup. The first had GT3 & GT4 regulations, the second is open for nearly every form of touring/silhouette cars. The Dunlop Endurance Cup had VLN-ish regulations with nearly every type of car admitted. Now the Belgian GT & Dunlop Endurance Cup merged to Belcar (yes, the good old Belcar) and the BTCS still exists .

I've read about Dijon BTCS races and wonder why there's no video from that races. Well, it's a national series but there're plenty of makes and lots of cars. I thought if Volvo have come then advertising of the whole BTCS should be greater. I would be glad if someone share some video of that wonderful machinery of top class. And that Scirocco in Martini colours looks amazing!

How well is going that new Jaguar project? Will Thirys be able to get their XF to Spa? And will there be any huge names at 12h race?

Hope we'll be able to see the new Jag Silhouette at the 12 Hours! For the supporting Belcar-race, a third W-Racing Audi R8 LMS will be entered for Bailly and Blanchemain. This car will also enter the final race of the championship, the Zolder 10 Hours .

Rob Huff joins Radermecker and Vande Poele for the Spa 12 Hours. Radermecker from his side will drive an official Cruze at the WTCC round at Zolder, coming June.

This weekend is going to be stunning with Belcar, British GT and N24 Cup teaming up for a 150-minute race.

We should have 30+ GT3's:

-Maserati Gransport GT3 (Francorchamps Motorsport 2x)
-Porsche GT3-R (Prospeed 2x, Trackspeed 2x)
-Viper GT3 (Viage KRK Racing 3x, GT3 Racing Ltd 1x)
-Audi R8 LMS (W-Racing 3x)
-Lamborghini LP560 GT3 (Argo Racing 1x, Gulf Team First 2x, Reiter Engineering 1x)
-Ferrari F430 GT3 (Delahaye Racing 1x, Chad Racing 3x, Scuderia Monza 1x, Mtech 1x, Rosso Verde - UCB 1x, Predator CCTV Racing 1x)
-Aston Martin DBRS9 (AM Brussels 1x, John S Racing Team 1x, Barwell 1x)
-Ascari KZ1 GT3 (Preci Spark 1x)
-Ford GT (RPM 1x)
-Porsche Cup S (First Motorsport 1x)

And apart from that some BMW touring cars, a bunch of N24's, a Mosler, 2 Saker GT's, few Ginetta's, KTM X-Bow, Lotus 2-Eleven, a bunch of Porsche Supercups (2005-2010)...

In total about 70 cars normally .

Looks like a good entry list, anyone know if the British GT runners are running to the same rules as the Belgian GT guys this year? Also are the British GT guys running on the Avons for this event like last year or are they able to run a different tyre like the other cars were last year?

Don't know what the rules in British GT are but in Belcar the GT3's run on Michelins and should be using exactly the same balance of power as in FIA GT3 .

Can be pretty certain the BGT guys will be on Avons, sadly.

Indeed, so effectively we will have 2 classes in GT3 for this race in the same way that we have 2 classes in LMP1 at the moment. Shame.

Probably the three championchips will start in different groups (Ã* la VLN).

Total field should be 45 Belcar + 20 BGT + 9 N24 = 74 .

This sounds fantastic! I knew that British GT were joining up with the Belcar, but didn't realise the Aston GT4 series was as well. I'm pleasantly surprised that nine of those are making the trip.

I made a little mistake . Francorchamps Racing should be there with a Maserati GT4 and a GT3. And that GT3 is indeed one of those as you have there in that link . Here are two pictures from a thursday training at Zolder. I guess (hope?) the car is upgraded as it has a diffusor now...

Although no drivers have been confirmed up to now, Sarah Bovy should be one of them.

Thanks for the info!

I've always had a soft sport for those GT3 Masers. I wasn't aware there were any examples of them still racing - certainly in Europe. They were never the quickest, but added great variety to the GT3 field and from what I can remember made a glorious sound.
