How many years has Jim Kato been in AFR by now? Being an FRD driver is not exactly a great way to advance your career, is it?

yes but he still gets a drive for free, which would not happen in other structures, always easy to criticise

META4, I am sure every young driver in the world will kill to drive for 4 or 5 years (plus who knows how many more) in AFR for free.

lucky that Sepang decided not to remove Asian Formula Renault
======================== The Asian GT Challenge, which features top class supercar actions, has been forced to be dropped from the 2008 Super GT International Series Malaysia race schedule due to time constraint. “After re-assessing the race schedule and upon consultation with promoters of the Asian GT Challenge series, it had been agreed for the event to be excluded from this year’s race programme,” says Azhar Ghazali, the Press Officer of Sepang International Circuit. In a statement issued today, Azhar said the decision was also made to prevent the event from finishing too late in the evening apart from the consideration on the possibility of late evening showers during the three days. “It’s unfortunate, but there is still four more top class racing series that fans can enjoy apart from the main Super GT event,” he said, adding that the support races are the new Aston Martin Asia Cup, the Asia Supercar Challenge and the single seater formula series - the Asian Formula Renault Challenge and the Formula V6 Asia. |

In the last Asian Formula Renault seasons he used to be beaten by Imperatori and Saarinen , even if Kato is not that bad driver |

True,Kato is no more the Chinese Hope......
He is now winning because the drivers in AFR are ****, last year it was hard for him to get in top 8.......If he'd race in F Asia 2.0 he would have his ass kicked badly. |

Champ engine was same power as Kato's one...difference between those two?
One was sealed bu FRD engine builder, the other no....I let you guess which engine was not sealed. |

champ motorsports were not selaed cause frd had no time to rebuild more engines and let champ goes to a friend to rebuild champ engine.great days even, days we'll tell our grandchildren about, days that seem as come to an end.
icant understand why u keep taliking of frd championship. there is no serious drivers there and in asia everybody is talking about the new series of afos, formula asia 2.0. they have website, they have tv, they have the teams, they have the good drivers. |

seems like Champ have a "Good" friend who is able to put some more HP, if i remember well the Champ Engine was tested about 10-15Hp over ...
Wait and See, I agree that the New FR2.0 Asia has the best teams and Drivers , about that there is a consensus of Opinion. Ok FR2.0Asia has TV, but does watch it? what is the audience? Lets see how it goes in the future because with only 11 drivers classified so far it is not the best start. They promised a "French Team" , where is it ? I guess if they want to develop this new championship ,they will have to bring some new teams from FBMW Pacific (E-Rain,Meritus,Eurasia),AsianF3 (Aran-Racing,PTRS...) or some new teams... Teams racing in FR2.0 Asia already run 3-4 Cars (ART,March3,Champ), i guess no way to run anymore for them . time will tell.... |

Nice story about " The Horse power friend who rebuilt engines" ....
This just show how unprofessional FRD is, How can they allowed such a kind of thing???? if you let the door open of Cheating to the teams, of course they will cheat...... The funiest thing in all that is Kato's engine matching Champ engines but Kato got the seals on it.... |

Spelling rumours as officials, memory tricks, examples and charts covering the nearly trackless jungle of ridiculous which is not true.i say that french team gonna join it wasnt the organization and there is one italian team working in the popline to come to asia. stay tuned. and its not frd chronicles of shameless, tasteless racing, and pure hokum dispensed by their organisation.

I think a major roadblock to new team entries was that the Teams had to buy their cars and parts ONLY from FRD.
What are the rules on this with FA2.0 ? Can I bring a car from Europe and buy parts from anywhere ? By the way, where can I find a rulebook of FA2.0 ? |
