When did the BTCC's car become known as Super Tourers and not just Touring Cars? Was it as soon as they became 2 litre or when they had sequentials or when they dropped the engine down and back as from 96?
My view is that a Super Tourer is at least from when they had sequentials if not as late as the dropped engine. |

1992 when they introduced the 2 litre singe class they didn't have a proper name. In 1993 those rules became an official FIA cattegory - Class 2.
Class 2 officially became Super Touring in 1995 when the FIA introduced the wings and splitters regulation. |
