The normal F3000 and Porsche Supercup races, and I think a non-championship British F3 race and a thoroughbred F1 race, although I'm not sure about the latter.

Not sure about the first race but you definately want to be their by 8:30am as this is when the F1 warm-up session starts.

Go very early on Sunday. The mass of racing fans trying to enter the village of Silverstone on just a two lane carriageway will try your patience for sure. Watch out for the tour buses if you are walking in, they will run over you. I know this from experience.

We are getting there saturday afternoon and camping so we only have to walk a short distance. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good place to watch the race?

Mike, just a word of warning, last time I went to a GP ('98) all the campsite were full by Friday evening. I don't know if you can book in advance, but if you can it might be worth it. As for where to watch, either somewhere with a big screen (like the complex) or Becketts, as you an F1 car at its absolute best through there.

they're getting all het up about the parking this year, so you might not be able to get anywhere near without a full arsenal of parking passes and camping passes... organise it early is what i'd say.

Don't expect to see much other racing if you're only going on Sunday, the F3000 race is on Saturday, the Porsche's will be on Sunday, no idea about the F3, but in the past they've always been on on the Saturday, as far as I can remember. (And after a heavy Saturday night, it's usually not too far!)
You will also have to fight masses of crowds to see even a whiff of an F1 car on race day. Grand Prix Sunday always seemed like a MASSIVE rip-off to me, especially for the privilege of standing out in the rain, typical Brit GP weather. |

I've just had a look at Silverstone's website, and on it they have provisionally put the thoroughbred F1 and F3 invitation races on after the GP on the Sunday.
