Penske slowly gaining places as others fall around them.

Almost certainly. Although interesting sound from the onboard, it sounds like Sharp had locked the rears slightly and they were chattering on the road. I think Sharp also missed his braking point, but Miller missed it even more.
Great avoidance by Menezes. Good news for Conway. |

I also think not being able to attend races the last few years made it easier to be a little more "bitter" or skeptical or whatever too. |

After a shocking WEC race a few weeks ago, Menezes is really raising his stock here. Passed a Caddy, defended against JPM, AND put a GTD car between them with an insanely late braking move. That was a brilliant set of moves.

And now he's overtaken Van Overbeek around the outside of T1. That's a great stint so far.

I guess nobody told Menezes you can't go around the outside in T1.

In IMSA, if a car takes the green flag it scores entry points. I'm not so sure about drivers' points. This isn't like the WEC or LM where you have to do 70% distance and run the last lap.

Pagenaud into the 6 Penske.
Also looks like Tandy has cleared the grass off the front of his 911. |

Expecting good things from Pagenaud. Hopefully he can put the Penske back at the front.

It took him a while to get used to the Porsche, but he really loves the kind of racing he's had this year.
He reckons by moving from WRT/Audi to Porsche, he becaming a better driver - just by moving out of his comfort zone. (There was an interview with him in a pre-F1 programme a while ago) |
