cds_uk should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Afraid i missed the race, its obvious where my loyalty lies so if someone can fill me in with what happened i would appreciate it, from Franck's website i gather he got caught up in the first lap tangle, (Marcos fault?) after a pit he then tangled with Antinucci, (racing incident?) after he got his suspension straightened he then carried on getting data from the car and set the 3rd fastest race lap, cheers guys.

Yeah, he was involved, but I don't think any of that was Marco's fault (this time). Here's the vid...

That first lap was horrible. It was a carnage of cars involved. Unfortunately Danica was caught up in that. Dixon was lucky to have gotten back out so soon and back on the lead lap.

No doubt bro. I just thing of all the talents in the field, Graham being very much in that same ultimate tier, Marco is the one who needs Penske or G d F tutelage most!

I've watched every race this year.........it gets shown live on TSN, then repeated on TSN2 after it has run on TSN. I have seen every race this year. That said, I seem to recall races when NASCAR was on TSN, so the IRL was shown live on TSN2 (but, as I recall, it was repeated on TSN later). Well, anyway, I would definitely say find a way to get a package that includes TSN2. When you combine TSN and TSN2, then, assuming you also have Speed, ABC, CBS, and NBC, you have all the motorsport bases covered (for everything else, there's internet streaming).

As for Sonoma, well, it was a good race (if not spectacular). Plenty decent enough to prevent me complaining. I am utterly over-joyed that Mike has finally managed to get the kind of result we all knew he could get if he didn't fall into his too common trap of silly errors (well, I guess DF is still mystified every time he runs well, but there you go, ).

There must be something about the IRL scoring system, for it just seems to consistently provide close title races.

With my satellite provider I have to buy a fairly expensive package of stations to get TSN2. I do not want any of the other stations so I will not pay a lot to get TSN2.

No matter what scoring system you use, finishing second as often as Ryan is doing will put you in a very good spot. Incidentally, here's what the championship would look like with the old pre-split system (points for first 12 - I've highlighted the movers):

1. Ryan Briscoe 182 (-)
2. Dario Franchitti 175 (-)
3. Scott Dixon 163 (-)
4. Hélio Castroneves 112 (-)
5. Danica Patrick 85 (-)
6. Tony Kanaan 78 (+1)
7. Will Power 74 (+10)
8. Marco Andretti 70 (-2)
9. Graham Rahal 63 (-)
10. Hideki Mutoh 60 (-)
11. Dan Wheldon 59 (-3)
12. Justin Wilson 57 (-1)

13. Ryan Hunter-Reay 37 (-)
14. Ed Carpenter 32 (-2)
15. Raphael Matos 29 (-1)

16. Mike Conway 27 (-)
17. Mario Moraes 23 (+1)
18. Robert Doornbos 22 (-3)
19. Paul Tracy 18 (+3)
20. Townsend Bell 12 (+10)

21. Alex Tagliani 12 (-)
22. Tomas Scheckter 11 (-2)
23. Oriol ServiÃ* 10 (+4)
24. E.J. Viso 8 (-5)
25. Darren Manning 5 (+4)
26. Vitor Meira 4 (-1)
27. Sarah Fisher 1 (-1)

Update on Will Power..

Penske Racing driver Will Power, injured in a practice accident at Infineon Raceway on Aug. 22, won't require surgery, according to orthopedic specialist Dr. Terry Trammell.

During an examination Aug. 31, Trammell determined that Power suffered fractures of his second, third and fourth lumbar vertebrae and a fracture of his fifth thoracic vertebra in the crash that also involved Nelson Philippe. Trammell expects Power to recover with rest and rehabilitation.
Power will continue to wear a back brace during an expected recovery period of at least four months. Power, who also suffered a concussion and a chipped left front tooth in the incident, will begin physical therapy for his back injuries this week.

After completing his rehabilitation, Power is expected to be ready to compete by the IndyCar Series season-opening race in March 2010.

Glad that he'll be ready, but who'll be ready to hire him for the first race?

Will Power still drive for Penske in the first race in a third car? (Will Will if you like...)
