So it is a two-cylinder powering a generator which powers electric motors art all four wheels, augmented by ERS? It has a tiny turbine doing the same? It has no engine, but a mast and sail pops up from behind the driver?
All at least as likely as a front-engined GTR street-car clone, IMO. Failure witht he ZEOD nonwithstanding, I don't see Nissan being anything but 100 percent committed to winning. I don't see them building some oddity just to be different, despite what the press statement might claim. |

How they have a finished aero if they do not even know that engine concept to use accodring to some?
I bet there is at least a testing mule running around in secret on a Nissan test track. |

If the GTR-LM will give it's track debut in October as mentioned the engine concept has to be ready and also most of the aero work has been finished otherwise Nissan will not get the car ready in just 3 months

If Nissan would base their LMP1 design on the GT Vision Concept, I think half of the design would use the front-fascia of the GT Vision Concept while the rest is conventional right down to the fins, assuming that it won't be FR.

Recently possibly fired Ferrari F1 head of engine Luca Marmorini has been approached by Nissan according this Italian site:
http://www.f1passion.it/2014/07/f1-f...rso-la-nissan/ iirc before Ferrari and a little break he worked for Toyota F1 in the same role. Last edited by deggis; 29 Jul 2014 at 09:03. |

Rumours aside - I wonder when we'll start to get more official details from Nissan on this project?
They are PR-savvy so I'm sure they will drip-feed info like Porsche did. I'm guessing the Fuji round of the WEC we'll see something. |

Wait a minute... did they say mid-October for the car's track debut? The Fuji WEC round is October 12...

Marmorini isnt a great addition imo. His engines at toyota were low on power relative to the ferrari and mercedes. And then theres reason Ferrari dont have him on anymore.

No real surprises on the driver-front. Although there's no actual news to confirm.
What from I gather Nissan are keen to have some Japanese drivers in this programme. So bringing in Oliveira and Quintarelli from Super GT (even if the are the best candidates) wouldn't satisfy that. Also starting to think Ordonez might get a drive. Regarding a guy like Pagenaud - you have to imagine he's been approached by practically every works LMP1 team. Surely? Seems a career in Indycar is the priority. |

Regarding Japanese drivers, the same was thought about Toyota (even all-Japanese car) but only Nakajima materialized. The only thing for certain is the Nissan Academy #eatsleepracerepeat Nismo Athlete presence. In fact I'd expect that to be the third LM(/Spa?)-only car...
Hopefully that slogan gets replaced by something less annoying |

I'm not surprised Nissan want [more] Japanese drivers [than Toyota], but they have to be good enough, and I'm not sure any are. Toyota were going to promote Ishiura at one point as well ... I'd like to see Matsuda make it though. Quintarelli and Oliveira are shoe-ins I would have thought.
A cheeky punt on Treluyer surely won't have gone unnoticed by Ulrich! Although he used to race for the works GT500 team he seems settled at Audi. Apart from that it's all the same names as previously speculated. Regarding Pagenaud, not only is he focused on Indycar now but surely Honda would not be pleased to see him go to Nissan in any form of motorsport. |

I'll be disappointed if their "out-of-the-box design" wasn't true at all.
Or worse, having a carbon copy of the DeltaWing, minus the narrow front section and replacing it with open front wheels with fenders just like a Formula E car. |

He's been so amazing in ICS that for now there's no reason to switch anyway
(and LM more often that not clashes with Texas or whatever - Detroit certainly does with Test Day) |
